I’m comin’ for ya, 2015!

Good afternoon! Thanks to all of you for your sweet comments & emails on my 2014 Highlights! It really was an amazing year for me and I am so happy to be able to share a piece of it with you. Also, a special thank you to my new followers – there are now 5 newbies with me so far this year! I do, of course still appreciate the oldies 🙂 Today, I wanted to share a few of my goals for the year. I didn’t include them all, but put a focus on the main ones I can put a checkmark next to once I have completed the task / achieved the goal. Like my highlights, the goals are mostly related to further developing my creative interests, enhancing my blog and maybe even some business ventures. I am in the midst of devising my plans and then plan to share the deets with you all. Next up in this post, are the house projects, some minor & one pretty major one! I also have a lengthy list of ‘other’ goals – workout more, drink more water, eat healthier snacks, etc., etc. Maybe I will share the full list with you someday (once I stop adding to it HA!)

2015 Goals - This is our Bliss

January is already 1/3 over and I am working to get organized and start chipping away, little by little throughout the year! This past weekend we got started on our upstairs linen closet and will be sharing the details soon. Lots of exciting projects to come! If you know me by now, then you know this list will change 100x and I will end up re-doing a few rooms even after I classify them as “done”. I guess there is just a bone in my body that won’t leave a good thing alone. My vision changes, I get a new killer idea or I get bored, either way, no room is ever safe!

2015 house projects - this is our blissThat last one there. Yep. The basement. That’s the biggie. We are planning to have our basement finished in the early part of this year, but since we are not going to be “DIY’ing” this space, we are still in the midst of reviewing bids & proposals and whittling away at our list of potential contractors. There will be plenty more to share on this project once we get going, so stay tuned.

What else is going on around here?! Well, let’s see…
(still) going through closets and loading up bags for consignment & donations
cleaning & organizing the boys’ rooms
preparing to paint the inside of the linen closet (Ted just removed the old shelving yesterday)
ridiculous amounts of laundry since it seems I am not yet caught up from holiday travels
general household cleaning & purging
deciding what sleep training methods I am going to be trying out on Simon (still struggling in this department, big time. Oh and he got his first tooth 🙂 )

If you have any great new year organizing & purging tips to share or sleep training tricks, for that matter, please do share! Have a great rest of your Monday and I’ll be back very soon!

Great goals! Where do you take design classes and such? Thats something I would love to do! I can’t wait to see what projects you come up with 😊

If you figure out the whole sleep thing, let me know! My youngest is 10 months and we are totally struggling between growing and teething! It is a never-ending battle!

Thanks, Samantha! A friend told me about an upholstery class that a woman teaches at night at one of the local high schools. I am now signed up and start next week! I found a photography class last year on Groupon and it turned out to be awesome… for other potential classes, I have started to look into evening classes at a nearby community college. There are tons out there that I am interested in, so just need to find one that would work with our schedule 🙂 Sleep training was not very successful last night! I will definitely keep you posted. Wish us luck tonight! Thanks again ~ Rachael
