Christmas Entertaining Gift Guide Holidays Lifestyle

Hostess with the Mostess {Holiday Gift Guide}

Hello out there! Sorry for the silence over here. I took some time away last week since we were gone to be with family over Thanksgiving. We were at my in-laws and had a great 4 day visit with my husband’s parents and his brother’s family. They have 2 boys, ages 4 and 2, so needless to say, there were 3 high-energy little boys running around and lots of pass-the-baby (Simon, that is!). After time away from home, its always nice to get back, unpacked and settled in again. We finished decorating the trees yesterday and I only have a few small things left to put out around the house. Happiness in my house right now equals a fire, lit tree, cozy blanket, a cup of coffee or glass of wine and snuggles with my boys!

December is here and if your schedule is anything like mine, so is the start of the holiday hustle and bustle – shopping, parties, dinners, gift exchanges, shopping, get togethers, more shopping, gift wrapping, packing, and yes, even more shopping. Finding fun and unique gifts can oftentimes be difficult, so I have put together a Hostess Holiday Gift Guide to help you out if you know you have a holiday gathering coming up and want to bring your hostess something other than the easy, go-to bottle of wine. Several of these items, however, would be even more excellent if paired with their favorite vino 🙂

This gold pretzel bottle opener is literally the cutest / coolest gold kitchen gadget ever. It would be great tied with ribbon onto a 6 pack of winter or holiday beers.

Who doesn’t love a cute notepad to jot down day-to-day reminders or to-do lists? Well, this girl does 🙂 Wrap it up alone or attach a pretty pen to it with twine or ribbon.

Since you can never have too much gold, this gold pineapple wine stopper is another great item to attach to a bottle of wine. Tie a ribbon around it, with a handwritten note on a gift tag and you have added a lovely little treasure to an ordinary bottle.

No explanation needed here! EAT CAKE FOR BREAKFAST mug – with or without a bag of coffee.

Sticking with the coffee theme, since it is a great after dinner drink (with or without Bailey’s) bring your host a bag of coffee and clip this nifty little café scoop to the top. Super thoughtful and so very convenient.

If want to carry your bottle to the party in style, this wine tote is a must.

If you want an idea aside from wine or coffee, think about pairing a candle and a box of long, decorative matchsticks – the host can open both up and use them right away. This candle is so pretty you wouldn’t even need to wrap it!

Lastly, I have been big into forgoing the traditional wine gift bag and wrapping a bottle in a fun or festive dish towel and tying it with ribbon or twine and attaching a simple note. The towel serves as gift wrap and then functions as an actual towel your host can use in his or her kitchen time and time again.

What is your favorite hostess gift to give or receive? I will be back with more gift guides to share with you throughout this week, so please come back for a visit!

Happy holiday shopping & holiday hosting!
