I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with family and friends!! I am feeling extremely thankful for so many wonderful things in my life right now. So very thankful we were able to be back home at my parents’ house in Iowa to spend several days with my family over Thanksgiving and grateful to have been able to visit my in-laws for a few days the week before. With both of our families out of town, we truly cherish the weekends & holidays with them at our house or theirs because unfortunately, they aren’t just a quick trip down the street or the next town over. It takes a bit more planning to get together, but we all work out scheduling as best as we can!
We got back home last night and got one of our trees up and decorated! Since we are still in the midst of our fireplace makeover, we are waiting until later this week to get the 2nd one out in the family room. I’ve said it before, but seriously, this fireplace situation is inching a liiiittle too close to Christmas for comfort. I am saying my prayers we can get this thing wrapped up in the next few days because….
well, my home needs to be photographed!!
As the holidays are quickly approaching (wait…what? They are?!) I am thrilled to announce I will be teaming up with 15 other fabulous and amazingly talented bloggers for the 12 Days of Christmas Tour of Homes!
Yes, that’s right! This is the 3rd annual tour and when I was asked to join in the fun this year, I think my heart skipped a little beat! I have oohed and aahed over the lovely homes in this very tour in years’ past and I think I will have to pinch myself when my day of the tour officially arrives. I will be sharing the links and photos from others’ tours here on the blog as well as across social media, so watch out, December 1st. We are coming at you with some WOW! This is sort of random, but since I’m feeling all-around thankful right now, I had to share! I’m sort of beside myself at the emails I’ve been receiving lately – companies reaching out to ME to inquire about working together. Say WHAAA?! I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but I am thrilled at some of the opportunities I’ve been chatting about and not to say they will all actually happen, but STILL!! Partnerships of all sizes! It’s not even about the money. I mean, getting paid for this little gig of mine would be fabulous, but I have found such fulfillment from taking an idea that evolved in the middle of the night and seeing it through to a published post, learning new things, the friendships I’ve created and the camaraderie and support among the blogging community, hearing from my readers that I have inspired them in some way and now, finding out various companies have actually noticed me and my work! Its an incredible feeling and I am beyond thankful for where I have been over the last year and a half and ecstatic to see what’s next!
Speaking of next, I will be reviewing this year, similar to my 2014 highlights and setting new goals for 2016 (see my 2015 goals here) in a post sometime in the beginning of the new year. I hope you’ll stick around to see how 2015 wraps up and how next year kicks off!

Not to get too far ahead of the game though… we still have the entire month of December to get through! And lots of Black Friday / Cyber Monday / all-around shopping madness to survive as well! I avoided shopping in the stores on Friday, but indulged in some online retail therapy all weekend to jumpstart a few checkmarks on my lists!
Ummmmmm….. TRUE!
