Merry Christmas Eve, friends!! I wanted to pop in one more time to wish you and your loved ones a happy and blessed holiday! My family is arriving tomorrow, so today, the four of us are hunkered down watching Christmas movies, eating cookies and sipping hot cocoa by the fire! And our Christmas wish came true – its been snowing all day!! I’m sending T out for one last-minute trip to the grocery store and then tonight, after the boys are down, we can tend to our Santa duties and get a head start on some Christmas dinner prep! Let the festivities begin!!

PRETTY IN PLAID CHRISTMAS LIVING ROOM
CHRISTMAS TOUCHES IN THE MASTER BEDROOM
As you can see, the plaid traveled throughout the entire house this year! I dabbled in a variety of Christmas decor schemes, but this year some traditional red and green plaid just felt right!! There is of course, no shortage of black, white and gold in each room though! If you love it, mix it! Use the pieces and patterns that you love. Don’t try to follow any rules, especially when decorating for the holidays. There is enough hustling and bustling [and stressing!] as it is!
I hung a simple wreath over the bed, added a plaid pillow in front of the gorgeous green Malachite pillows that were added to the bedroom this summer and then a couple of gold bottle brush trees – one on each nightstand. That’s it! And it instantly feels like Christmas!
The gold bottle brush trees are just too cute. They might have to stay up through January and serve as “winter decor”. By only adding a few Christmas touches to the bedroom, it doesn’t feel cluttered and overwhelming like the rest of the house can feel towards the end of the holiday season. I am not one to rush to pull everything down on the 26th, as we usually wait until sometime around New Year’s Day, but I have to admit, sometimes the desire to remove it ALL grows STRONG!

But in the bedroom, it still feels calm and peaceful! This was the first year I dressed up the bedroom a bit for Christmas and I have to admit I love it. I may even have to add a small tree next year. Ha! So much for keeping things to a minimum in here lol

Do you decorate your bedroom for Christmas? Or maybe just switch out some pillows to make it feel more festive?!
Thank you so much for all of your sweet comments, notes and emails throughout the busy holiday season! Each and every one of them is so thoughtful and I’m still working my way through the replies, so thank you for being patient!
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones! It really is the most wonderful time of the year! Especially because it is completely acceptable to eat, drink and be merry [in our PJ’s] for the next several days! That’s what the holidays are for in my book. Enjoy them with your people and I’ll be doing the same with my crew!
xoxoxo!!
