If you saw yesterday’s Bathroom update post and were loving the clean, crisp and white feel of the space, well then get ready for a full-on color explosion today! I went bold and bright in the Dining Room for Spring and am sharing it all with you today in my Floral and Feminine Spring Dining Room Tour as a part of the Color Loving Home Spring Tour Hop hosted by Lovely Etc.
Deep down, I crave neutrals and will always use them as a foundation, but I’ve really come to love decorating with color over the years! Have you seen our youngest’s nursery? Or our recent Powder Room Update [the room I tackled for $100!!] and just this January, when we refreshed our kitchen and now have a GREEN island?!
I mean, we’re talking about the girl who used to only decorate with black and white and if a “pop of color” was necessary, then gray, gold or tan would do!!
I’d say I’ve come a long way to now 😉
FLORAL AND FEMININE SPRING DINING ROOM TOUR
Don’t get me wrong. You’ll still most certainly spot plenty of black, white and gold in my recent spaces, too. What can I say, it’s just my style!
The dining room hasn’t changed much since I first created the space in the Fall of 2016 when I transformed it from it’s original yellow state during the One Room Challenge. Actually not one bit.
The table gets a quick facelift each season and holiday and I do enjoy switching up the style of the bar cart, but the walls, furniture and configuration have not moved a muscle!
Although I still love the stacked frames under the wall sconces flanking the window [including my DIY Sharpie art and my framed fabric] I think it might be time to take the artwork down and try something new.
Since the art is bold, colorful and floral, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to play up the femininity of the space and go all out with bright and bold flowers for Spring!
The bright pinks, deep purples, soft blush and rich burgundy color combo you see in the floral arrangements came to be after I had placed these faux Mongolian fur pillows in here to take photos for my post when I shared my Good Housekeeping feature in February.
After a trip to Trader Joe’s for fresh flowers and then stumbling upon a roll of floral wrapping paper in my stash, the star of the room [the table] was formed!
I’ll be sharing my tips and tricks for putting together a floral arrangement in a fun post next week.
I might even spill a few secrets while I’m at it, so be sure to tune in!
See how to make a floral arrangement using fresh and faux flowers here!
I scooped up the black and white geometric placemats at IKEA. I love the pattern play they create against the floral runner. The table runner was a DIY and I did it the same way I made the runner I used on my Christmas Table last year.
I’ll never ever be mad about spending $3 on a roll of wrapping paper.
Getting a pretty table runner out of it and STILL being able to wrap several presents with the remainder!
Our everyday white plates, blush pink napkins and fun, floral bowls placed on top finished off the place-setting with my favorite gold flatware on the sides to top it off!
There really isn’t much else to show off in this room, but let’s take a step back and see the bright and bold colors on the table from afar.
I think it’s a pretty darn good attempt at a pop of color, what do you think?!

Don’t forget to pin for later!
If you found even an ounce of inspiration in my tour, then you are in for a real treat as you make your way through the rest of The Color Loving Home Spring Tour. Each day this week is chock-full of inspiring decor full of Springy-ness and COLOR! Enjoy!
