Tis the season to eat, drink and be merry! Most of our eating and drinking this season is spent casually hanging out with friends and family, but there are a couple times each holiday season where I need to put away the jeans and leggings and pull out something a bit dressier. For Holiday parties, weddings, New Year’s Eve, etc., I like to have a few go-to pieces that I can either mix and match or that one dress I know will be able to carry me through, not just the holidays, but all year-round. Today, I’m sharing my find for The Perfect Little Black Dress for the Holidays and bonus – it’s under $40!!

THE PERFECT LITTLE BLACK DRESS FOR THE HOLIDAYS
You’re probably thinking – ok, 40 bucks. It surely can’t be that great. But I’m telling you, I am soooo into this dress! I snagged it online this Fall and although it had rave reviews, I had pretty low expectations. It was one of those “click order and cross your fingers”. Do you ever do that?! When it arrived, I pulled it out, tried it on and was instantly in love!
It zips up the back and fits like a glove. There is a thin inner lining and it isn’t a super tight or stiff lace, but not super stretchy either. I would say it has a little “give” and I also had a bit more room in the size small than I would have thought. Mainly in the waist and stomach area. Even though my typical dress size is 4, I actually ordered a size medium, too, because I still have a few pounds of baby weight to lose and I wanted to compare the two sizes. I ended up keeping the small and am so happy with the fit.
The dress hits just at the knee or slightly below on me for the perfect “midi” length. I am 5’4″ for reference 🙂
The lace detail around the neck, cap sleeves and hem line are so beautiful! I truly can’t say enough great things about this black lace dress. And again for under $40! The actual price is $35.99 with free shipping and free return. So, I mean…how can you NOT add it to your wardrobe?
Honestly, the detail on the lace neckline is so pretty and delicate, you could [I probably would] skip the necklace altogether. Pop on a statement earring, put on your arm party, grab your clutch & heels and you’re out the door!
Hit it with the steamer for a few minutes and you’re good to go! For those wondering, we have this commercial grade steamer in our master bathroom and it is ahhhmazing! We’ve had it for 8 or 9 years and it still works like a charm.
The photos do not even do this dress justice! I was so incredibly pleased with it. I know I’ll be getting my wear out of this LBD all throughout the year. You just can’t go wrong with a classic lace dress especially in this length and fit!
