Friday has rolled around again, so that means I’m sharing another simple appetizer! In honor of Flamingo Fridays this Summer, I’ve decided to pull together some of my favorite go-to dip and appetizer recipes. Today, I’m sharing these Mini Caprese Skewers.
My goal in sharing these with you is that when you are in a rut and need to make something quick, you’ll have a few simple ideas! And hopefully it will involve less than 5 ingredients.
FESTIVE & EASY APPETIZER IDEA – MINI CAPRESE SKEWERS
These skewers look like a lot more work than they really are! They look fancy [thanks to the glaze ;)], but they are only 3 ingredients served on a mini skewer. An elevated “finger food” for your guests!
They are light and tasty which is exactly what I want in the hot Summer heat.
These Mini Caprese Skewers have all the yumminess of a Caprese Salad, but in cute, bite-size form. These little kebabs are easy to make and serve when hosting, but just as easy to make and take along if you’re heading to a party or barbecue.
They travel well, but I would suggest adding the glaze once you arrive to the party. It only takes about 30 seconds at the end!
MINI CAPRESE SKEWER INGREDIENTS
- Mozzarella pearls
- Grape tomatoes
- Fresh basil leaves
- Balsamic glaze
- 6 inch bamboo skewers
MINI CAPRESE SKEWER DIRECTIONS
There isn’t a right way to make these skewers. You can add the ingredients in any order!
First, add one grape tomato. Then, pull a fresh basil leaf off of the stem, fold it in half and add it to the skewer, pressing it down close to the tomato. Then, add 3-4 mozzarella pearls.
I have also used the larger mozzarella balls to make these, but I like to switch it up with these cute pearls sometimes!
Continue making as many skewers as you’d like to serve.
Once they are arranged on your serving platter, Drizzle balsamic glaze over the entire platter.
Some people like to use regular balsamic vinegar, but I like the balsamic glaze. It gives it that “elevated”, finished look! Sometimes, I will dip the skewer into a small dish of regular balsamic to coat it and then still finish off with the glaze on top.
Just a simple back and forth motion with the Balsamic glaze across the platter will do it! You can go corner to corner or left to right and work your way down the length of the platter.
And that’s it!
Have you made these Caprese Skewers before? Or another version of them?!
Don’t forget to pin for later!
