Life with 3 little guys [and a taller, larger 4th child who shall remain nameless] can be pretty chaotic! There’s just so. much. stuff! Having a few functional storage & organizational systems in place seems to help us in our day-to-day. I am by no means an organization guru and honestly, I struggle with it often. BUT I do have some essentials in place that have helped our family tremendously. Today, I’m sharing 20+ of The Best Organizing Essentials from Amazon!

And we own most of them!

Corralling the things, storing the gear and attempting to keep it all looking chic at the same time CAN be done! You just need to take some time to get your main areas set-up!

Sometimes it just takes a few key organizational pieces to get you motivated to tackle more!

So with the new year here, I thought it was only fitting to share some of my favorite organizing items from our beloved Amazon. Everything is on Prime and most things are under $30!!

If you haven’t gotten the itch to purge, declutter and get organized yet, it’s not too late. Pick a room or start small by organizing a single drawer and get to it!

And if the organizing bug has already hit in 2020, then maybe some of these items will help you reach even more organizational goals! But first, baby steps over here 😉

AMAZON ORGANIZING FAVORITES

1 | BLACK & WHITE ROPE BASKET || The perfectly stylish “catchall” for any room in your home. Think blankets in your family room, toys, laundry, etc. You can stick this in any corner, in the closet or even on the floor of your pantry for larger, overflow items – like paper towel rolls, bulk things, etc.!

2 | STRIPED BASKET || I love this for closet storage! These would be perfect lined up in a nursery closet or even hallway linen closet.

3 | ACRYLIC LIPSTICK HOLDER || I have a similar one from HomeGoods, but I’m pretty sure I paid double! This one holds 45 lipsticks so you can load up your favorite nudes, reds and pinks for easy access.

Because digging through cosmetic bags or unorganized vanity drawers looking for the perfect shade of lipstick [when you’re already running late!] is the worst! 😫

4 | MAKEUP PALETTE ORGANIZER || This! Added to cart! Plus it looks so pretty with your palettes lined up like that.

5 | WALL-MOUNTED WIRE PAPER / FILE ORGANIZER || We have one of these by the back garage door in our mudroom area. The top one is for papers T and I need to deal with – sign, mail back, file, etc. and then Henry and Simon each have a slot. They empty the papers from their red folders each day after school.

Then I quickly sort through before dinner to make sure nothing needs to be returned the next day and then I do a clean-out at the end of the week.

File, recycle or return to school!

6 | BLACK & GOLD NECKLACE HANGER || Talk about chic and functional! I have this hanging in the wall in my office with my necklaces. As you know, I have a ton of Stella & Dot inventory and like it on display, as well as other favorite necklaces as well.

This works especially well for the longer pendant necklaces by using the top row hooks. Delicates can be doubled or tripled up on the lower pegs.

I love how it looks on the wall. I’m probably going to end up ordering a second one for my bedroom to the side of my dresser.

7 | METAL SLIDING DRAWER CABINET ORGANIZER || I want these for under each sink in all the bathrooms! We have 1 in place currently, but would love to order them for everyone’s bathroom. It would force us to declutter and purge the bathroom cabinets which they desperately need!

The shared boys’ bathroom is going to get an organizational makeover as well as a major facelift this month! Have you seen my boys’ bathroom plans and design yet?!

It’s going to be the nicest bathroom in the house, I’m certain!

8 | ROTATING ACRYLIC BATHROOM COUNTER ORGANIZER || This is must-have! I put this in my Holiday Gift Guide for Her last year and like I always say, its stocked full of my favorite items as well as serving as my own personal wish-list. Well, I got one and I love it.

It sits in the corner of our master bathroom vanity and houses SO much! I have full-sized hair products, skincare bottles, body lotion, makeup brushes, compacts, lip glosses, scrunchies and more.

You can choose the shelving height on each side and it rotates all the way around for easy access to all your necessities.

9 | BACK-OF-THE-DOOR HAT RACK || This is a goody if you have boys or for your husband. Its a 2-pack, so I split it up and each of the older boys has one on the back of their door.

So both of them have their own hat rack holding 9 hats each for $5 – it’s $9.99 for the set.

And you don’t have to screw or mount any hardware either which means I got them both set-up in under 5 minutes!

10 | CLEAR STACKABLE DRAWER ORGANIZERS || Love these for the bathroom or kitchen drawers. You may have seen me dive into our kitchen drawers on Instagram stories last week, but I still need to hit the bathroom vanity drawers. This set would be great to have in each bathroom or several in the kitchen.

11 | OVER-THE-CABINET HAIR TOOL HOLDER || Still haven’t decided between the black or the gold one yet! I ordered one of each of these to use in my bathroom for my hair dryer, curling iron and straightener, but haven’t set it up yet because I don’t know which color to keep!

I think the gold is sold out now, but there are satin nickel, bronze, chrome, black, oil-rubbed bronze and rose gold to choose from. I think it’s a genius idea vs. leaving them out on the counter 24/7 or having to dig them out of the drawer or cupboard when you’re ready to use them.

It’s the little things, right?!

12 | VELVET BRACELET DISPLAY HOLDER || This is a great way to see your bracelets in order to make those fab arm parties! I have a similar bracelet holder I got as a S&D stylist, but I think I need to upgrade to the black velvet because mine only has 2 bars and this one has 3 bars!

13 | AIR-TIGHT FOOD STORAGE CONTAINERS || These have been a great investment for our pantry. We got a set maybe 8 years ago and then added a second set within the last few years. They are perfect for storing dry goods and the air-tight pop-and-lock seal is excellent!

The kids can operate them so they’re pretty simple to use 😉

14 | DRAWER DIVIDERS / ORGANIZERS || These are a new purchase in 2020 and I haven’t got these set-up yet either. I’m going to try them out in one of the boys rooms first and then if I like it, order us all our own set! Under $15 for 4 pieces!

I have a lot of work to do in this whole project get organized. Lots of stops to still make! Many rooms to go…

15 | SHOE CUBBY || We have several of these around here. I think each closet has at least one and they are great for stacking a pair in each cubby. This item was one of the most asked about things in Simon’s Nursery closet all those years ago. It helped with that awkward side corner space in his closet. We put one of these in and turned it to the side for easy shoe access.

This will work for all shoe sizes!

Set of 6 stackable Refrigerator Organizer bins – we’ve had ours for a couple years and I love having the pull out drawers for fresh items, containers and eggs!
Bamboo Charging Station – I gushed about this item in my first Favorite Amazon Finds post — we love it that much! It holds our 2 iPads, 2 iPhones and a fitbit. I like having all of our electronics in one place to charge. It has also helped teach the boys what happens if they’re iPads don’t end up on the docking station. They don’t magically charge overnight from the family room rug. 😉
Wrapping Paper Storage – you all need a good wrapping paper storage bag!! One that slides under a bed or on a shelf or floor in the closet. Keep all the rolls together, with your bows, ribbon, gift tags and I like to keep a pair of scissors and my tape in there too! I have a Christmas dedicated one, but love this black and white option for my everyday occasion papers!
