Ladies who Brunch! I hosted a Stella & Dot sample sale a couple weeks ago and while I was planning to keep the food and drinks super simple, I still wanted a pretty presentation. I love putting together snack and charcuterie boards, so thought this was a perfect time to pull out my fav round lazy Susan wooden board and fill it with mid-morning munchies. To be honest, I sent T to the store for the last of the items an hour before the party! That’s what I love about these boards, you can pretty much use anything without a lot of planning. Everyone just nibbles and grazes! Today, I’m sharing what I put on my Simple, Last Minute Brunch Board.
SIMPLE, LAST MINUTE BRUNCH BOARD
I didn’t intend for this board to be so last minute. In fact I thought I had most of the ingredients, until I pulled everything out of the fridge and pantry and realized I was missing a few key items! So after a quick store run and about 15 minutes to assemble, this is what I ended up with.
Some sweet, some salty and some savory.
Which is exactly what I like!
If I was doing a bigger set-up or hosting more than 5-6 girls, I would have gone all out and added more hearty breakfast items like bagels, waffles and even mini pancakes.
Oooh bacon and sausage would be delicious, too! And probably some heavier lunch items.
I think a breakfast board like that is calling my name!
This Brunch board was definitely more snack-based, which is always safe when hosting. You don’t know how much people are going to want to eat, so simple snack items they can nibble on throughout the party is a great way to go.
ITEMS I USED ON MY LAST MINUTE BRUNCH BOARD
- jar of fig spread
- cinnamon sugar pita chips
- multi-grain pita chips
- Wheat Thins
- Gouda cheese
- Brie cheese drizzled with honey
- Utz Pub mix
- heart-shaped chocolate covered cookies [Trader Joe’s]
- strawberries
- muffins
- apple fritters
SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS FOR A SIMPLE BRUNCH BOARD
I didn’t follow a strict method when placing the items on the board, but here are few tips:
- Separate items into small mounds across the board
- Balance the colors out across the board – put pops of red on the edges and middle, etc.
- Keep the items close together, even overlapping so it looks full.
- Use small bowls for small items [i.e. pub mix] – 1 – 3 bowls depending on the size of the bowl and size of the board
- There are no set rules, so have fun, be creative and sprinkle any items on your board!
And for a simple, no-fuss mimosa bar, put champagne in an ice bucket, set out a variety of juices and champagne flutes. They can help themselves or you can offer to make them one!
I always like to serve a cranberry orange mimosa!
ROUND BOARD || CHAMPAGNE FLUTES
These snack boards area a breeze to put together and clean-up is easy with less dishes and bowls to wash.
Which is always a win when hosting!
A stack of small paper plates and cocktail napkins are all you need. But grazing off the board without a plate is totally acceptable, too! 😉
