When we updated the outdoor light fixtures last year, I had no idea what a huge difference it would make in the overall aesthetic of the exterior. I knew they were due for a replacement, but I didn’t realize just how terrible they’d gotten! After swapping out 3 sconces on the front of the house and a ceiling fixture on the porch, as well as some other front porch updates, it felt like a brand new house! Today, I’m sharing 12+ Outdoor Sconces for your Home’s Exterior in case you’re looking to make some lighting upgrades!

Lighting is such a vital element to the ambiance and home’s overall design aesthetic, so it’s no surprise that outdoor lighting checks those same boxes.
You can see the kitchen lighting we installed here, the wall sconces we put in the middle’s big boy room and the chandelier and sconces we selected for the Dining Room.
Not to mention, my love for a good gold lamp as I outlined in this table lamp round-up!
First, I’m going to show you the before and after of our outdoor lights and then I’ll share all of the stunning sconces I sourced at the end.
OUR OUTDOOR LIGHTING UPDATES: SCONCES & CEILING FIXTURE
We’ve been in our home for 4 years this month and when we moved in, I wasn’t a huge fan of the outdoor lights. However, we prioritized other changes in our home & decided to wait before replacing them.
The home was built in 2000 and I’m assuming the fixtures were the originals. They were black, but starting to fade, chip and erode. But it wasn’t until last year, that we decided it was time to replace them.

I wanted sleek & simple with a little character, so we went with these black outdoor sconces & an Edison bulb.
They were easy to install and they look fantastic. Such an upgrade for under $100 per light!
Replacing your outdoor light fixtures is one of those things you don’t think about much when you’re inside, but as soon as you leave to go somewhere or pull up the house when returning home, you are instantly reminded!
Updating the exterior lights can be a huge improvement to your home’s curb appeal for resale or for your own pride and enjoyment.
12+ STUNNING OUTDOOR SCONCES FOR YOUR HOME’S EXTERIOR

Almost all of the sconces above have clean, straight lines with some unique detail. If I had to choose a favorite, I don’t think I could!
one || The “x” detail and hanging loop are so cool.
two || The touch of gold and that round hoop make me swoon.
three || Love the seeded glass on this one.
four || The black backing and density of the double box look is so rich looking!
five || Love the glow of this one!
six || Similar to ours but a longer, more rectangular shape.
seven || Again, that touch of gold! Love the mix and the look of the light hanging down from the rod.
eight || Cool scroll at the top!
nine || Love the mini multiple lights inside of this one.
ten || The added metal detail across the top and bottom of this one is so neat.
eleven || I love the cylinder shape of this one and the metal caging almost gives it a striped look!!
twelve || Classic! Love the thickness of the edges on this one.
And a few more worth mentioning… 😉
I found this wall light right before I published this post and fell hard for it! I love all the unique and interesting details. The round shape, the studded screws, the smoke iron finish, the cracked glass and the touch of gold – all of it.
And this wall lantern is very similar to ours, except it has gold detail and a seeded glass tube inside versus all glass sides. Love it!
I know I said I couldn’t choose a favorite, but if forced, I would say one, two, four, seven, eleven & twelve are at the very top of my list. But I think it’s safe to say I love them all!
