The Friday Five

fall front porch with pumpkin spice sweater - This is our Bliss

Hello and good morning, friends! How are you? I can’t believe we are more than halfway through the month and almost done with the first 3 weeks of elearning. It feels like Fall and I’m here for it. I’m afraid to say our after school swims are over, but I’m now enjoying the brisk mornings and nights by the fire – inside and outside! Since the end of the week is here, that means it’s time for The Friday Five!

Come on over and cozy up while we chat about the random tidbits from the week, exciting new finds, sales, recipes and more! I’m so glad you’re here with me each week. These really are some of my very favorite posts to write and share. It’s a low-key, anything-goes-kind-of-post and it truly feels like we’re friends sitting and chatting about anything and everything!

ONE // EARLY FALL FRONT PORCH SNEAK PEEK

fall front porch with colorful mums - This is our Bliss

cardigan // tank // jeans // boots

I started sprinkling mums on the porch this week and am pumped about the colors going on out here! I decided to go with the full color wheel because I think I about covered them all! Red, orange, yellow, purple and white. As difficult as it was to constrain myself, I opted to only buy a couple that were already in bloom. Yes, they look hearty and amazing now, but I really want them to last through the season. Once they start to open up more, I’ll be shooting the porch and sharing a Full Fall Front Porch post here on the blog!

You can see the more feminine version from last year’s porch featuring pinks, purples and white.

TWO // PUMPKIN EVERYTHING

It’s that time of year when everything pumpkin jumps into my cart! Coffee creamer is the first thing I buy each season – yum!

I popped into Aldi the other day for the first time in years [Ted is the one that runs in there every so often] and grabbed a few things. 2 items to highlight are the Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls and the Pumpkin Cheesecake Caramel Corn.

Is your mouth watering like mine is right now?!

We haven’t opened the bag of Caramel corn yet, but the boys [and I] devoured the cinnamon rolls for breakfast one day this week. They were big and fluffy and full of pumpkin yumminess!

Several of you messaged me on Instagram requesting an ALDI haul post. Would you be interested in hearing about some of our favorite things from there?!

THREE // SHOP STYLE YOUR SENSES

Fan-girl moment! I was recently contacted and asked if I was interested in partnering with Shop Style Your Senses – an online boutique created by Mallory Fitzsimmons of Style Your Senses, a Dallas-based fashion and lifestyle blog and immediately replied yes! I’ve followed Mallory’s blog for as long as I can remember back when it was called Charming in Charlotte and she primarily focused on home decor. I watched her launch her boutique and was in awe at how she was juggling life as a wife, mom, blogger and now small business owner. She even moved into an official office space and has a warehouse to house her inventory and ship orders out of.

I was beaming with excitement opening the PR package from the shop and was greeted with the sweetest note to accompany the pieces she sent to me.

How darling is this little brown striped v-neck pocket tee?!

I also had fun styling this Go Get ‘Em Tiger Graphic Tank for Fall.

I recorded a quick try-on video of the pieces on Instagram Stories and was fan-girling so hard I could barely get my words out! So much for eloquently promoting her shop!

To my surprise, she messaged me instantly to thank me for sharing and then shared my stories on her account. Eeek! You guys have to check out her shop – the most darling pieces at an incredibly affordable price point. She models all her pieces and looks stunning in everything! Also, free shipping if you spend $50!

Thank you, Mallory and Team Shop Style Your Senses for partnering with me! Best of luck with your Autumn collections!

FOUR // HAND SOAP HEAVEN

I purchased a set of these glass hand Soaps early this Summer and have been meaning to share. They came in a pack of 8 for only $26.99 with (4) Sweet Orange, (2) Rosemary Mint, and (2) Creamy Coconut. I have one in our Kitchen and one in the Powder Room. They smell divine and I absolutely love the label.

If you don’t have a Costco membership, I also found the same set here!

I’m going to try this set next! They are a great option if you prefer a clear glass over the brown glass with similar pretty packaging!

FIVE // IN CASE YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS…

There is no way to be a perfect mother, but millions of ways to be a good one quote - mom quotes - This is our Bliss

I needed to hear this earlier this week, so if you are in the same boat, here you go 😉 I’m feeling all the pulls and tugs right now and I’m constantly reminding myself that I can’t do it all.

It’s okay to say no.

It’s okay to give in sometimes.

It’s okay to take a break.

It’s okay to cry.

It’s okay to deal with it later.

Our world looks a little bit different now and I’d be lying if I said it was all sunshine and roses in our little corner. There are tough days, like real tough. All 5 of us have been home together for more than 6 months now. And while I’m extremely grateful we are employed, healthy and safe, it is just plain hard sometimes. Don’t try to do it all, but do try your best. Motherhood isn’t easy as it is, but its certainly not easy right now.

Here’s a hug if you need it!!

I hope you all have a great weekend! I’m over-the-moon excited that Friday is here! Schedule free and happy!!
