It’s that time of year to finish up all the last minute things before the holidays! If your shopping is done, then hopefully all you have left is wrapping and figuring out what to eat and drink! I’ve rounded up some of my go-to food and drink recipes that are perfect to make for the holidays. Today, I’m sharing 10 Drinks & Appetizers to Make for the Holidays!
Many of these recipes are already festive [several are already red & green!] and if they’re not festive enough, a simple garnish will probably do the trick!
10 DRINKS & APPETIZERS TO MAKE FOR THE HOLIDAYS
Get your pen and paper ready to add to your grocery lists right now!
CHRISTMAS PINWHEELS
This is one of my favorite appetizers to make at Christmas, probably because it’s the only time of year I make them! These pinwheels are a mix of savory and sweet [which is a combo I typically aim for] and they make the prettiest display on a platter.
Layering the pinwheels on a plate like a Christmas Tree is simple and fun, but they look just as nice however you stack them up!
BOURSIN CHEESE & JAM
This is the one you make when you’re in a pinch for last-minute guests!
Love this one because you can use any flavor of jam or jelly. Of course a red raspberry or strawberry is perfect for the holidays! You could add a basil leaf or sprig of Rosemary for a touch of green, but if you use the Garlic & Herbs Boursin there’s your hint of green!
2 ingredients and 30 seconds later, you’re ready to nibble on this quick dip!
CHRISTMAS SNACK MIX
A Christmas tradition at our house! We actually make this mix at Valentine’s Day too but swap out the holiday M&M’s for the pink, red and white ones. This mix is perfect for little treat bags or gift baskets! I wrote a post on how to gift this mix in a jar and even included free gift tags available to download and print.
SWEET & SPICY BACON WRAPPED DATES
These make a great appetizer and always go fast! Since the bacon is secured around the date with a toothpick, it’s the perfect grab-n-go bite.
MINI CAPRESE SKEWERS
More green and red! A savory appetizer that is as festive and delicious as they get! Also on individual skewers which makes it great to serve groups large or small.
BAKED BRIE WITH BACON & BLUEBERRIES
I love this warm and hearty dip for pita chips and I’m thinking you could swap the blueberries for cranberries to make it a bit more seasonally appropriate. The tang and tart would be perfect with the bacon and honey!!
3 INGREDIENT BRUSCHETTA DIP
Yet another appetizer that is full of festive flair and a cinch to make. Open and pour, then pop in the oven. No measuring required!
STUFFED MUSHROOMS
A top 3 favorite among our family and friends. I make this mushroom recipe year-round and serve it as both an appetizer or side dish. It’s hearty and delicious and there are NEVER any left in the pan at the end of the night!
SKINNY SPICY MARGARITAS
You can’t go wrong with a margarita any time of year. The holidays are no exception! Pop a few cranberries in or slice a few strawberries for a pop of red to go alongside the lime. Otherwise, the cayenne or Tajin will do the trick for the red 😉
CHRISTMAS MORNING MIMOSAS
I just shared this tasty drink recipe on the blog this season and am so ready for one in a few days! I love the combination of the cranberries and champagne and they’re quite honestly, so beautiful!
The gorgeous red color is perfect for the holidays and these mimosas would make a lovely addition to any Christmas breakfast or brunch table.
If you love a classic mimosa, try a splash of cranberry juice with the orange. It is a yummy combo!!
Is your mouth watering like mine is right now?!
I highly recommend adding a few of these appetizers and drinks to your holiday menu! Whether you’re hosting, traveling or staying in with your immediate family, these are all guaranteed to be crowd-pleasers.
They are all tried and true!
Don’t forget to pin for later:
And if you’re looking for something quick and yummy for everyone to snack on over Winter break, these Peanut Butter Energy bites are a great option. We all devour them!
A charcuterie board is always a great idea and a holiday-themed one would be so cute! I need to make and share one on the blog one of these days!
I like to have a batch of egg salad or chicken salad in the fridge for quick snacks or meals over the holidays, too. Both are good on a cracker or sandwich and are super convenient to have on hand!

I hope you all have a great week. I will most likely be back with one last post before Christmas. See you soon!
