Home Lifestyle Mood Board

A Classically Neutral Space Full of Texture & Modern Touches

ProCore Floor mood board in collaboration with This is our Bliss

I love creating spaces that are warm and welcoming and if it’s in my own home, they’re typically neutral. With the exception of a couple kid spaces and the guestroom! I’m always drawn to earthy, organic tones and I love when texture & pattern enter a space to create that vibe. Today, I’m sharing some design inspiration and a mood board I created in partnership with ProCore Floors around their new luxury vinyl plank collection exclusively at Lowes. Come and see my creative process and how I brought my ideas to life!

A CLASSICALLY NEUTRAL SPACE FULL OF TEXTURE & MODERN TOUCHES

Classically Neutral Space full of Texture & Modern Touches - This is our Bliss with Floors

I’ve always documented the early stages of my design process through a mood board, which can be digital or a physical compilation of decorative elements that work together to create the overall aesthetic of a space. Today I’m going to walk you through the mood board I created around two of ProCore’s flooring samples. Both are from their new line, ProCore Plus – which are durable, waterproof, kid and pet-friendly, low maintenance luxury vinyl plank flooring.

And if you’re anything like me and have 3 little ones running around, this is an amazing option!

Here are several samples from ProCore’s new collection that I received inside of the sweetest box of happy mail!

There are more than 15 flooring options in the new line, but I selected the English Grove Oak and the Warm Honey Oak to design around. Both are a beautiful, light-colored wood with endless options of design potential.

I was drawn to these 2 in particular because they’re lighter than the floor I currently have in my home. I thought it would be fun to design around something different! Plus, with a lighter option, you get that warmth that I love and try to evoke through the use of gold metals.

Aren’t they stunning?!

Not only are they a beautiful flooring, but they are durable, easy to install and low maintenance. So for busy households, this is your solution. Pets, kids, you name it, these floors can handle it! The ProCore Plus flooring line is a high-density, rigid core construction that is 100% waterproof. The floors can be installed with a clickable fold down locking system and can even be installed over minor subfloor imperfections.

HOW TO GET THE LOOK

I started with a blank slate and began collecting items from around my home that would create a neutral, earthy vibe. A look you could infuse into any space in any home. This color palette would work in a kitchen, living room, bedroom or bathroom. They only thing that would change would be the types of furniture pieces and fixtures. I created a general mood board so that with a few tweaks, you could apply it to your specific space or multiples spaces since the flooring would carry through from room-to-room.

Here is what I used to create the classically neutral space full of texture and modern touches…

  • neutral, complimentary patterned textiles – I wrote an entire post on how to mix prints and still use the formula to this day! Showcase patterns in pillows, upholstered benches, bar stools, chairs, rugs or window treatments. You can even bring pattern in with decorative accessories like vases, books or art.
  • earthy, fresh elements – fresh tulips or any plants or trees [faux or real] bring life to a space
  • warm metals – gold objects bring a warm, glam vibe to a space [use in picture frames, light fixtures, cabinet hardware, etc.]
  • rich texture – tufted pillows, tasseled blankets, woven baskets, etc. create that rich organic warmth

I love that the floors are the perfect light-to-medium shade. They are light without being too washed out. If you prefer a darker look, there are several options available for you, too. The Arden Oak is a gorgeous deep brown and the Charleston Oak has gray undertones. Not only can you select the color, but you can also choose glue down or interlocking install.

These warm textures and fabulous prints are making me want to go lighter with our flooring someday. If you’re in need of a new flooring solution for any space in your home, I highly recommend checking out the ProCore Plus flooring line exclusively at Lowes.

Whether you crave neutrals or love color, you can take my tips and bring your own space to life. Try laying some of your elements down on the floor or design a virtual mood board online [I use Designfiles and Picmonkey to create mine!].

Ok, off to design more spaces and dream of a future home!

Thank you to ProCore Floors for partnering together on this post.
