OUR CHRISTMAS LIVING ROOM // CLASSIC RED WITH A TOUCH OF MODERN FLAIR
The excitement has been building since our big move from Illinois to Arizona this Summer for our first Christmas in our new home [you can see our empty house tour here & our early Fall tour here] And I do have to say, it feels pretty darn good to have the trees up and the living room decorated and ready to enjoy!
Because aside from a few pieces of furniture and our rug, our living room has pretty bare, until now.
and up until September, it sat completely empty while we borrowed the furniture in here to use in the family room. We were waiting on our new sectional delivery and to be able to finish the Family Room for the Fall 2021 One Room Challenge.
you can see the kitchen + family room refresh reveal here.
After the furniture was put back in its place, it was time to spruce the space for Christmas!
Since I didn’t have any décor in here yet, I was really excited to bring in some holiday sparkle.
Plus, our Family Room doesn’t have a spot for our big flocked tree, she got to come in here.
This front corner of the Living Room was where she landed!
I am still madly in love with how the tree turned out last year, so I pretty much decorated it the exact same way again! Gold, silver and copper metallic ornaments with pops of red all throughout. The white faux snow is the perfect backdrop for any and all ornaments, but I sure do love the contrast of the bold red.
The boys helped do the bottom half of the tree and Winston especially, couldn’t get enough! He probably put on at least half of the entire tree’s ornaments! If he was too quiet, I knew where to find him. Adding more ornaments to the tree — he called each one “sweet”, “beautiful” or “interesting” before placing it on the tree.
gosh, this age is the best at Christmas time. I want to bottle up all three boys at age 3 and bring them out at this time every year 🥰
Once the ornaments were on, I went in and added beaded picks and red poinsettias. I normally do it in the reverse order, but I took the help while I could get it. And the helpers wanted to do ornaments once I could get them all in the same room at the same time.
Other than the tree, the only other spot I decorated was a little coffee table styling. I got this new acrylic tray, added some of my favorite coffee table books and then placed a couple trees & a thrifted brass deer on top.
I had a vision of red poinsettias in my man head planter, so I went with it and love how it turned out!
The 6.5” poinsettia fit in perfectly!! I grabbed it on Target and couldn’t wait to get home to try it out.
The pillows stayed the same except for the addition of the white furry pillow on the right. And I didn’t photograph the chairs across from the couch, because our dining room table still has Thanksgiving aftermath on it #reallife which basically consists of an empty room with a table, folding chairs & two, 90% dead flower arrangements.
I plan to tackle the dining room sometime next year, but for now, we just won’t photograph it!
Since the flocked tree is our main tree [I’ll be sharing more of our new pencil tree soon], I’ll eventually put presents underneath. I’ll just have to start wrapping in order to do that 😉
I sort of love this stripped down version of our Christmas Living Room. A fully decked out tree, but with only a few knickknacks set out. We’ll have plenty of space in here to gather with family Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!
I will share a few more spaces dressed and ready for the holidays next week, so be sure to come by again soon. For now, please head down to the other tours & take a peek. I know you’ll enjoy what you see.
