I’m always ready to dive head first into Elin’s stories and this one is no exception. Its the story of 3 women who all have one thing in common – they were all married to the same man, so there’s bound to be some drama when they are all staying in the same house in Nantucket. Each chapter of Here’s to Us recounts these women’s stories of love & heartache and then life beyond Deacon Thorpe. I read this one cover-to-cover in 3 days while on our Spring Break staycation. Elin is one of my favorite authors and this is the 7th book of hers I’ve read [see the ones I’ve read so far here]. You’re always in for an easy, romantic beach read when you open an Elin Hilderbrand book. Which is exactly why this one was poolside with me everyday!
It was published in 2016 and really makes you feel the full range of emotions associated with love, loss, children, mistakes, addiction, next chapters, do-overs and new beginnings. You can’t help but find yourself in an empathetic state while reading about each of the 3 women’s life with Deacon – the ups and downs and everything in between. By the end, the ladies find themselves with more in common than just their ex-husband.
