Powder Room Refresh // The Before

ORC-Guest-400white

I can’t believe I’m uttering the words “I’m starting another room challenge!” But yes, that is in fact the case. To be honest, I’m going to take every opportunity to jump into a challenge to get our new home refreshed and infused with my own personal style. And as I’ve referred to it before “Mission de-brown everything everywhere!” Today, is Week 1 of the Spring 2022 One Room Challenge, so let’s tackle a little Powder Room Refresh, shall we?

This is my SIXTH time participating as a guest in the ORC and every time I join, I feel a little crazy for doing so!

Shortly after we moved to Arizona last Summer [see our empty house tour here], I updated our new Kitchen & Family Room during the Fall One Room Challenge.

You can see the reveal here and all my past ORC posts over the years here!

If you’re not familiar, The ORC is an 8-week challenge where you pick a room in your home to transform. Since all 4 bathrooms in our new AZ home need a little TLC, I thought I’d start with the smallest one and work my way around to the rest over the course of the next several years.

You can see all of my past bathroom transformations here.

The One Room Challenge is a ton of work with a deadline in place, but truth be told, I need that deadline to hold me accountable. It helps me make desicions, schedule contractors, order materials and plan my work. Some weeks are tougher than others, but I just try to keep my eye on the prize of that reveal date. Knowing no matter where the room ends up, it will be a vast improvement from where it started!

Speaking of where it started, let’s check out the Powder Room as it looks now…

POWDER ROOM REFRESH // THE BEFORE

It’s a small Powder Room, so we’re not working with much space, but my goal is that this tiny room is unrecognizeable when I’m done.

Lots of beige, beige, and more beige.

But that changes today! I can’t wait to wrap up my design plans and mood board. You’ll get to see it right here on the blog next week. I’ll be sharing my weekly updates on Thursdays, so be sure to follow along. The Reveal will be on May 26th!

Now let’s take a quick look at the work ahead of us…
