We are now through week 5 at home and now more than ever, I’m really excited for Friday to hit! Every day feels a lot like the day before and the day after, but something about Friday makes me feel different. Maybe it’s that we don’t have the pressure of homeschool and no plans at night. We have the opportunity to totally and completely chill out with movies & popcorn, pizza and games and not have to watch the clock for any reason whatsoever. I’m back with The Friday Five where I share a few tidbits of random things from throughout the week!
Do you feel that same way about Fridays lately?!
The Friday Five series is meant to be light and carefree – an ‘easy read’ if you will. So settle in and get comfy – I’ve got 5 little things to share with you today!
THE FRIDAY FIVE
GLITTER MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER
I’ve been setting a goal to get up and get myself ready most mornings. It helps with productivity and overall feeling better and more put together. As you know, I’ve been living in loungewear, but every few days, I like to put on a pair of jeans.
Jeans, my favorite black cami + duster + glitter & leopard sneakers and I was feeling good. Glitter makes everything better!
Here are some similar sneakers if you’re looking for something cute & comfortable with a little glitz & glam 😉
Anyone else planning their outfits for when they get to leave the house again?!

READING & WATCHING
I finally finished reading Little Fires Everywhere and then immediately started watching Season 1 on Hulu. Reese Witherspoon is one of my favorites and the cast also includes Kerry Washington and Joshua Jackson [who was on The Affair, which I loved]. We binged all 6 episodes and are anxiously awaiting the next one to start streaming! I say we, but mostly me 😉
The Dutch House is the book I’m reading now and am enjoying it so far. It’s set back in the post WWII era which is something new and different for a change. I’m still trying to read 30 minutes per day, but I’m finding it difficult to do without being interrupted or falling asleep ha! Still looking for that perfect window 😉
AT-HOME MANI w/ THE PERFECT PINKY NUDE
These nails! Anyone else’s nails looking rouuuugh?! Well after my no-chip peeled off, I attempted to use some old OPI nail polish. But without a top coat and the fact the polish was a good 10+ years old, it didn’t last long. I decided to order a new color and top coat and have it shipped.
This Essie color is sooo pretty and ended up being the perfect pinky nude. I highly recommend it! I also am really happy with this top coat – it’s fast-drying which is key.
I guess you can’t really call it a full manicure, but with a fresh color and shiny top coat, I feel like a million bucks! It really is the little things 😉
HOME OFFICE ZHUSH
Now more than ever, I’m realizing the importance of having an office space set-up. For me, T and the boys for schoolwork. We converted the boys’ playroom to my office last year, but it wasn’t until now that I realized I needed to make some changes.
We also transitioned the dining room into our classroom headquarters, but that space is mainly for arts and crafts, reading and writing and some simple science projects. The boys use my laptop at the kitchen island for school work and they also use our home’s desktop in my office.
I ordered this white desk to swap out with the small writing desk in my office currently, mainly because I wanted a keyboard tray to free up some desk space. When you have a small desk with a keyboard and a large monitor, there isn’t much room for note taking or worksheets.
I’m planning on creating an office or even just a desk mood board to show you the direction I’m going with the design. I hope to have it ready next week! The desk is the jump off point and I can’t wait to get everything set-up on it.
Our new family office space will be ready soon, so stay tuned 😉
