This is the time of year when so many gatherings and special events take place. Starting with Mother’s Day through Labor Day and all of the graduation parties, wedding showers, brunches, vacations and backyard BBQ’s in between. One of the easiest ways to casually “dress up” is with an actual dress. All you have to do is slip it on and then accessorize! When in doubt, throw on a dress! It’s easy, breezy and you don’t have to worry about coordinating your top and bottom. Plus you can always grab a denim jacket or cardigan to layer on top for cool days or nights.
My favorite recent maxi dress find is none other than this Amazon find! I shared it in the April Amazon Haul, but really wanted to share it again now that we’re inching towards the Summer season! Its the perfect vacation dress or the stroll around downtown shopping after brunch dress.
The pattern is bold and colorful and the smocked detail on top is not only flattering, but the smocked section is actually leopard print!!

I’m wearing a size small and am 5’4″ for reference, so I would say it runs tts. If you are taller or want some extra width along the skirt, you could size up one. The dress hits a couple of inches above my ankles [which I love – there is nothing worse than tripping over the bottom of your dress. Can you relate?!]
The nice part about the smocking is that is forms to your size and shape making for the perfect fit up top!
