More big boy room progress in today’s update! We’ve been working away behind the scenes getting our littlest guy’s room revamped and today I am sharing a look at one little corner of his room. Here is An Easy Ready Nook Idea for Any Kid’s Room!
Last week you saw my Wallpaper sneak peek and now I’m sharing what I did with that empty corner off to the right!

If you’ve been following along with this Spring’s One Room Challenge, then you know I’m refreshing our littlest’s room by giving him a proper/official Big Boy Room. I’ve been working on this challenge since the beginning of April and the reveal is just over a week away!
I’ve got a ton of work left to do, but this reading nook seemed like the perfect tidbit to share today. Any kid will love this simple addition to a corner in their room! You can customize it any way you like by filling it with their favorite things!

How to Create An Easy Reading Nook in Any Kid’s Room
This corner came together in minutes!
I ordered this canopy from Amazon and we hung it on a screw eye from the ceiling. It comes in a ton of colors and is under $40. T drilled a hole, added an anchor, attached the screw and then I tied the canopy strings in a bow through the eye.
Next, I added this fluffy 4′ round rug and a bed rest / reading pillow from HomeGoods! [I found a similar and less-expensive option here.]
A stack of his favorite books and he was all in!!
So far, he has referred to the canopy as his “dance party room” and his “dressing room”. I am pretty sure he loves it!
I need to run the steamer over it to get out the wrinkles, but we are all loving this cute little corner now! Definitely, a great idea if you have a blank corner in a kid’s space and don’t want to put a piece of furniture there.
I would have loved a canopy corner like this when I was little! It can also be used around a bed, so it does open up quite large around the bottom. I really like that it can grow with him!
