Little Man Birthday Party Planning

1st birthday par-tee! - golf-themed birthday party - club sandwiches - yogurt par-fait bar - golf cookies - This is our Bliss

Life has been…well… just busy.  Simon is 7 weeks now and I am finally feeling really, really good.  I would say 98% recovered!  It helped that I have been feeling great since I was a bridesmaid in a friend’s wedding last weekend in Omaha & it was non-stop on the go for 4 days over the 4th of July weekend.  She was a beautiful bride & we all had the best time celebrating.  We were driving back home this past Monday and I realized that Henry’s 2nd birthday was a little over 2 weeks away!  I can’t believe my first baby is going to be 2.  I just. can’t. believe it.  Since we are planning to have a little get-together for close family and friends to celebrate, I decided I needed to kick it into high gear if I wanted to get invitations out in the mail and do a little party planning!

His first birthday party was golf-themed – baby blue & pale green with argyle & plaid touches throughout.  We had a fun, Saturday afternoon PAR-TEE with casual food, drinks and dessert.  I chose food & drink items that fit with the theme so I could make super cute little labels and tags for everything being served.  Of course I had to label everything.  The decorations were mainly simple DIY projects – a bunting, chalkboard sign, etc.

Today, I thought I would share some of the photos from last year’s party in hopes to inspire myself to whip up a few things for my little dude’s party this year.  Maybe you’ll find some inspiration too!  The theme this year is going to be ABC’s & 123’s since the letters of the alphabet & counting are his favorite things right now.  He is actually a little obsessed with letters & numbers.  We joke that he is going to be an actuary or financial analyst of some sort.  He just can’t get enough!

Here are a few snapshots from Henry’s 1st birthday party & a little stroll down memory lane for me… tear 🙁

Aaaannnd he’s done!

Now that I am literally wiping tears away as I insert these last few photos into my post, I think its time to call it a night.  Lots to do tomorrow & hopefully lots of nothing this weekend! I WILL have my backyard patio / outdoor oasis photos posted soon.  After all, I have to have that space ready for the party.  I have only been talking about finishing it for a month now…same story, different day! Goodnight!
