Now that our guestroom for the One Room Challenge is D-O-N-E!, I can focus on another very laaarge project currently taking place right now – our basement remodel. Not to say I have been neglecting this massive undertaking, but I haven’t quite given it the time & attention I thought I would have been able to…until now. So, we have spent the last couple of weeks gathering ideas and out hunting for all of the finishes, mainly for the basement bathroom to start. Tile, vanity & light fixtures are on my hit list for the week, so I thought I would share a few photos I am pulling inspiration from.
I can’t even imagine building a new home, as the stress of selecting a mere 3 types of tile – bathroom floor, shower floor & shower walls – has been killing me! Too many decisions – seriously. Next, I will be sharing my basement bathroom design board and then of course some progress posts (bathroom & the basement overall).
Don’t worry, I haven’t completely jumped ship from the guestroom.
I have a few follow-up posts in the works as well. Please come back soon to check out my tips for thrifting frames, my first giveaway and the deets on the DIY headboard I did!
The next couple of weeks will be filled with new & exciting stuff for you guys to check out. I’m going to binge-blog this weekend and get all caught up before my little man turns one next week. That doesn’t even sound right coming out of my mouth…one? Where did the entire last year go?! Party plans are in full swing over here, too, so I promise there will be some new posts & plenty of photos on the way of everything going on over here 🙂
On to these inspiration photos…There was definitely not a shortage of beautiful gray & white bathrooms to pull from…

So good, right?! I can’t get these images out of my head! I am literally lying awake at night thinking about tile —- ugghhh! I can only hope our bathroom even slightly resembles these gorgeous spaces. Light & airy with a slight industrial or rustic edge to them. I just love these gray & white looks… what do you think? If you were working on a bathroom right now, what look would you go for?
We are slowly chipping away at our upstairs guest / boys’ bathroom, too!:
painted vanity + knob selection
DIY brass owl planter
vanity light makeover
Ok, off now to keep browsing and hopefully start making some decisions! Wish me luck 🙂

May 16, 2015 at 8:47 AMI like the 2nd picture here. Usually I don’t care for inlay tile but this one looks good and planned – not a thin little strip running horizontally! ooooooh and the hardware 🙂
I also like the last picture with the complimentary marble colors and patterns. Have fun, and I can’t wait to hear what you decide on

May 17, 2015 at 10:48 AMThanks, Darlene! I probably sound stressed, but it HAS been fun playing around with tile size & shapes! Looooving marble right now, so I think it will make an appearance somewhere in the bathroom!
