Curious Little Gentleman Big Boy Room Progress Update

And just like that it’s mid-September! My goal was to have the biggest’s Curious Little Gentleman Big Boy Room Wrapped up sometime this month and by the looks of my list, I don’t think I’m doing too bad! I’ve said this before, but when it’s quiet on the blog, there is a good chance that it is BUSY behind the scenes. I’ve been cranking on this room and am loving the direction it’s rolling in.

I love that he likes his new room and is excited to actually go in there for quiet time and bedtime. Two times of the day that I would prefer to not battle with my 4 year old! The other thing I love about this space is how I was able to work in a few pieces from his nursery, like his curtains and dresser. Granted, I’m giving them a quick update, but I’m using what I have and saving a ton of money!

It’s bright. It’s bold. And there’s a ton of pattern play.

So you see, I’ve made a lot of progress, but then the list magically extends itself! I’m midway through a couple projects and should be able to cross them off by next week! I had a sewing machine issue that finally got resolved yesterday. Somehow my presser foot came off and got lost in the move, so I just went out and bought a replacement foot yesterday. And got the last one! Now, I just need to sit down to do some sewing this weekend. I want to finish up the curtains and make some fall pillows. It seems a little ambitious for how I’m feeling now, but keeping my fingers crossed that a surge of energy comes rushing over me tomorrow morning after my coffee.

But first, remember when we moved in?…

The purple walls! I wish I would have taken a picture of how it looked in the first few weeks before we bought his bed. He was sleeping on a sleeping bag, per his request, and there was stuff everywhere. There was no organization, nothing pretty, toys, books, clothes everywhere…seriously a dumping grounds for all things BOYS!

I took this shot a couple weeks ago and I’m kicking myself because I only snapped 2 before we did quite a bit of work and I didn’t want to reveal TOO much in the progress shot, but the quality is terrible! I think I’ll use it as the before ha!!

I promise to have better pictures to look at in the reveal. ‘Cause wow!

I’ve purchased several of the pieces that inspired me to create this space and they’re  already in his room. I’m still waiting on a few more to arrive and then it’s go time to wrap it all up!

My mom was in town this week visiting so other than hanging out with her – shopping, lunching and catching up, I started fall-ifying the house a bit. I got out my fall decor bins and gathered a few of my recent purchases and started sprinkling the house with fall stems and pumpkins. You may have seen a glimpse of my fall mantel on instagram! I might be crazy for committing to a fall home tour blog hop, seeing as how I have half-finished spaces throughout the new house, but I love this time of the year and thought it might kick me into gear! Hoping I have more than one pumpkin plopped on a table to share with you next week ha! Stay tuned for several, yes several posts next week. It’s time to get back at it!!
