I declared pink my color for Spring and since it’s still on my brain, I guess it’s going to be a pink Summer too! Our front door needed a “pop” and since I didn’t want to go on a scavenger hunt looking for the perfect new Summer wreath, I decided to make my own! But not a whole wreath in it’s entirety. I actually took a plain wreath I already had and added to it! Today I’m sharing how I made a Cute and Simple Flamingo Wreath for Summer for only a few dollars!
I’m not sure if I’m thrilled or terrified that Summer is inching closer and closer! Yesterday I shared a Simple Teacher Gift Idea with Free Printable Gift Tags and while the kids are still in school, I thought I would get a jump start on some Summer decorating.
And a Summer wreath for the front door was one of the first items on my list!
The inside doesn’t get much Summer love, but I do like to spruce up the back deck. And this year, we are working on adding a few extra Summer touches to the front porch outside of the normal planters filled with flowers situation!
Today, I’m joining 23 other bloggers for the Seasonal Simplicity series hosted by Krista of The Happy Housie, so be sure to stick around until the end for a TON more Summer wreath inspiration!
When you have a vision for a Flamingo wreath, but don’t want to fork over an arm and a leg for a WREATH, you come up with a way to make your own.
And I used the word “make” loosely!
Can you guess what my Flamingos were in their original form?!

HOW TO MAKE A CUTE AND SIMPLE FLAMINGO WREATH FOR SUMMER
When I spotted a 3 pack of Flamingo sunglasses at Hobby Lobby a light bulb went off. I decided right then and there they were going to be the pop of Flamingo pink I had been dreaming of! Plus I was able to use a 40% off coupon making each pair only $1. #score
All I did was pop the lenses out and snap the frames off and boom, my Flamingos were ready for their bow! My cute and simple Flamingo wreath vision of course included black and white striped ribbon!
After I tied a bow on all 3 pairs, I simple took green floral wire through the back of the bow and attached the wire’s end to the wreath itself.
That was it! I’m not even sure I can call this a DIY wreath because it literally took 5 minutes to do. I simply zhushed up the wreath I had in order to get it ready for Summer!
And what I love about this method is that it was not a permanent zhush. I can remove the flamingos once Summer is over and use the plain boxwood wreath again. All you need to change out that little front right corner each season and you can keep reusing the wreath over and over again!
Aren’t they just the cutest though?!
