‘Glam up’? That’s a thing right?! I know you guys can speak my language, so I guess we’ll go with it! I can’t help but want a little luxe in my home, but especially in one of the rooms I spend so much time in. And a space that really is mine! When I created our chic and organized laundry room space, I knew I wanted to incorporate some gold elements to give it a feminine & chic vibe. And what I came up with are simple and affordable ideas! Today I’m sharing 5 Easy Ways to Glam Up Your Laundry Room.
5 EASY WAYS TO GLAM UP YOUR LAUNDRY ROOM
Incorporating metallics into your home can be done in a subtle way. Generally speaking, I love all things gold, but I know each and every decorative item can’t be all glitz and glam. I kept most of the laundry room space neutral with grays, black, white and neutral earth tones in the woven baskets on the shelves and in the animal print runner.
Adding a few gold touches throughout the room makes my heart happy and also gives the space an element of warmth.
Here is what I did to glam up my laundry room!
ONE | CHIC CLOTHESPINS
I found these great acrylic canisters to use in a tray by the sink in our laundry room. I wanted to put items that would be better to have within arms reach versus opening up a cupboard. Oxiclean powder, detergent pods and clothespins were what I decided on.
Since everything is out in the open, I thought it would be fun to have metallic gold clothespins. Instead of buying gold ones, I decided to give my dollar store package a spritz of gold spray paint that I already had on hand.

TWO | LUXE OXI SCOOP
The blue oxiclean scoop got the same gold treatment. I took it outside and coated it with a quick coat of metallic gold spray paint!
THREE | GLAM KNOBS
After I painted the laundry cabinets gray, I knew I wanted either black or brass hardware. Then I remembered how much I adored the look of the knobs we put in the basement bathroom and decided they would be perfect in here, too.
And this way I didn’t have to choose between black or gold. I got both 🙂
A small touch of gold on these sleek black knobs was the perfect way to glam up the laundry room cabinets.
FOUR | STATEMENT [BUT SIMPLE] LIGHTING
I ran into the same issue when trying to determine a light fixture. It’s a small and narrow space so I didn’t want anything to big and bulky. My parents had just installed this ceiling light in their home and I fell in love with it.
Black and brass again, so I guess I have a type. Falling in love with something that looks like this is easy for me to do!!
It’s a semi-flushmount light fixture that’s just the right size and with just enough detail to make it interesting. The geometric design and combination of black and brass had me sold!
FIVE | ART & FRAMES
One of the other places I incorporated gold, was in the art and frames in the laundry room. I had this black and white art print from years ago, so bought a new gold frame and leaned it against the wall on the countertop.
On the opposite wall, I hung a black & gold DIY art piece next to this floral print and this other floral print.
The tiny touch of metallic gold adds a pop of glam among all the black and white on this side of the room.
There are so many different ways you can glam up any space in your home, but hopefully these five ideas gave you a hint of inspiration! And a $5 can of spraypaint can help you transform the smallest of things. After all, if you think a gold oxiclean scoop will give you life, then by all means, give yourself a golden scoop!
I also added in a small gold pedestal table in the corner, spray-painted the floating shelf brackets gold and then used a gold wine glass marker to write on my amber glass spray bottles – Shout spray & Dreft spray. Like I said, the glam options are endless!
