We are SO close to the finish line! In fact, today was the originally slated reveal date. But after weather and shipping delays, we collectively decided to push it back a week. Which we’ve done several years in the past. So, for today, I’m sharing a short and sweet Boys’ Bathroom Progress Report. Basically, a point-in-time update!
BOYS’ BATHROOM PROGRESS REPORT
dun da duuuun.
There is less than a week to go and I still have a good chunk of work left to do in order to finish up the room.
Yes, all the big items have been installed [except one] and the drastic changes have been made.
But no, it’s not going to be a sit back and relax kind of week over here!!
In case you’re just checking in today for the first time, I’m 4 weeks in to this year’s New Year, New Room Refresh Challenge hosted by Casa Watkins Living. The littlest’s and the biggest’s Shared Bathroom is getting revamped over the course of the month of January.
Here is everything you need to check out to get brought up to speed!
WEEK 1 || WEEK 2 || WEEK 3 || WEEK 4 || WEEK 5 [reveal]
Last week, I shared the most transformative update in the space.
TILE || TOILET || WALL PAINT || TRIM PAINT
The new tile flooring! Obsessed is an understatement.
The new toilet was installed when the tile was laid and the countertop was replaced last week. There’s a little wall damage that needs to be repaired, but we’re taking care of that today.
TILE || GOLD KNOBS
Then one night last week, I painted the vanity and added the new knobs. You guys, we went black and I LOVE it! I was so torn between white and black, but love the dark dramatic feel in here with the black vanity and 2 black pocket doors.
Then over the weekend, we took care of all the hardware and mirrors.
Those felt so good to check off the list! And the white walls started to fill up a bit.
Speaking of walls, there is one wall I’m still struggling with. I can’t figure out what to do for art over the toilet. Nothing is speaking to me or calling my name. And I can’t seem to decide what colors [if any] I want to incorporate into the room.
The lights were installed yesterday and they are beauties! After some drywall repair and sink faucet install later today, I’ll be able to make a few more checks on the list.
Here is where we sit today with the Bathroom Punch List:

Just a few things left! But everything always takes 3 x as long in real life as it does in my head. Especially with a 19 month old running around here like he owns the place ha!
The bigs are in school all day so they aren’t “participating” in the challenge. But boy do they love seeing something new installed when they get home from school!
I know where I’ll be holed up for the next few days if you need me!
I’ve been sharing quite a bit of behind-the-scenes on my Instastories and even created a highlight in my profile. Stay tuned for more tid-bits and then the big Reveal is only a week away!!
Now for the rest of my friends’ week 4 updates! Be sure to hop around and see them for yourself. Everything is looking so good!

January 30, 2020 at 11:53 AMIt looks beautiful – especially the floor tile you selected! What type of paint and color black did you use for the vanity? I am thinking of doing something similar to my son’s bathroom.
