Make Your Own Pizza Bar for a Fun Family Dinner Idea

Make your own pizza bar - This is our Bliss (1)

I’m always looking for ways to switch up the dinner routine, especially on the weekends. Friday nights are typically our Pizza & Movie Night, so to make it a little more fun and interactive for the boys, we decided to make our own instead of takeout or delivery. If you’re looking for ways to use up your groceries AND create a fun activity for the kids, this might be a great theme night! Today, I’m sharing how to Make Your Own Pizza Bar for a Fun Family Dinner Idea.

MAKE YOUR OWN PIZZA BAR FOR A FUN FAMILY DINNER IDEA

We’ve done homemade pizza nights where we throw our favorite toppings on a Costco pizza crust or a Trader Joe’s cauliflower crust, but this time we wanted to make individual pizzas. Mini ones the boys like to call them!

So we gathered a variety of “crust” options and put the toppings in small bowls [this one, this one and this one are my favs] and let everyone make a mini pizza of their own.

Here is what we used and how we did it!

MAKE YOUR OWN PIZZA BAR DIRECTIONS

1 || Put all the ingredients out in small bowls or plates.

2 || Give everyone their own placemat or plate for “building” their pizza.

3 || Pick a crust and put a spoonful of sauce on top and then let the kids spread it out with a small spatula.

4 || Add your favorite toppings & sprinkle on some seasoning and then place on cookie sheet to bake.

5 || Baking times will vary based on crust and size. 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes was the approximate oven temperature and cook time we used for our mini pizzas.

My boys love having something fun to look forward to equally as much as they love a hands-on activity, especially in the kitchen.

We made brownies this week and plan to make banana bread next. We have a ton of bananas from when we stocked up over the last few weeks!
