Good morning and happy Monday to you! Today I’m so excited to be kicking off a new series here on the blog! Last Fall, I started back up in the design / decorating space and began working with a client to help her refresh some spaces in her home. Some of the consulting work involved simply adding finishing touches after fresh paint and carpet was installed, while other spaces were demoed and then re-designed from scratch. New flooring, walls, fixtures and accessories! While I’m still working to complete her many rooms, I thought it might be fun to begin sharing some of the designs with you in hopes to inspire a room refresh or act as a starting point for a space in your own home! Here is A Casual Elegant Bedroom for the first post in my Mood Board Monday series.
The initial job was for 7 spaces and have since began taking on additional work, all while the kids have been elearning. Not to mention, my client is out-of-state! I made a few trips over to select materials and check on the construction. The rest was done virtually! I had a great contractor and crew in place so it made my job that much easier!
While this has been a challenging experience, it’s also been extremely rewarding. This work has “filled my bucket” in so many areas. It’s allowed me to be creative as well as sharpen my time management and multi-tasking skills. Its been exciting to add this additional work into my day alongside blogging and my own home projects.
While I’ve shifted the blog towards more lifestyle and style related topics in recent years, this little corner of the internet began in the DIY & home décor space! Its truly a passion of mine and am so grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to dive in again. And that my clients have trusted me with their home. It’s been such a rewarding 6 months!

I’ll be photographing the spaces and sharing some “before and after” posts later this Spring and Summer. But I thought a peek at my starting points for each room might be fun to see now!
Now that you have a little background on what I’ve been up to BTS, let’s take a peek at one of the spaces I’ve been working on.
This particular bedroom is one of the guestrooms in my client’s home. I wanted it to feel cozy and warm with touches of glam. Its a sophisticated, neutral space with touches of glam. My client wanted refreshed spaces, but simple. Not overdone with minimal decorative accessories. I focused on making this space feel cozy and warm to welcome her guests when they come to stay.
We left the dresser and metal headboard in place and I added pieces and accessories to compliment them both.
Since this room is 95% complete, it will be one of the first spaces I photograph, so stay tuned. I can’t wait to show you more!
