Hello & happy Monday! The weekend flew by over here and the new week snuck up on me! Its going to be a few more days before we have the swing of things after Day Light Savings. Anyone else?! We had a lazy Saturday around the house, but wanted to do something to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the boys, so I whipped up this grazing board for the family and thought I’d share today! Here is my version of a St. Patrick’s Day Snack Platter!
Charcuterie board, grazing board, snack board or just a big board filled with lots of green goodies – whatever you want to call it!

I initially made the St. Patrick’s Day Snack Platter for the 3 boys, but it ended up being munchies for the whole family [more kid-friendly snack ideas!]
Anything green is fun for the kids and who am I kidding, us too! When I was in my 20’s and living in Chicago, the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day was a big deal. We’d get up early and start our fun with breakfast and green beer and then head downtown to see the Chicago River get dyed green! It is such a cool sight to see and a long-standing Chicago tradition.
We don’t have any St. Paddy’s Day traditions at our house, but I think this cute green snack platter might be the start of one!
HOW TO MAKE A ST. PATRICK’S DAY SNACK PLATTER FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
There is no right or wrong way to make a spread like this. In fact, I didn’t even know exactly what I was going to get at the grocery store when I went. I knew I wanted a mix of sweet, salty and healthy, so here is what I ended up with and how it turned out!
There are so many different ways to create a grazing board like this for any holiday or season. Just give it a shot!
INGREDIENTS FOR ST. PATRICK’S DAY SNACK PLATTER
- Green peppers
- Avocado
- Broccoli
- Baby dill pickles
- Green apples
- Green grapes
- Honeydew melon
- Bananas
- Guacamole chips
- Guacamole
- Spinach Dip
- Applesauce pouches
- Chocolate mint cookies
- Rolos
**Spinach leaves, fresh basil and magnolia leaves as garnish
**Mini gold appetizer forks & gold shamrock for a touch of gold
HOW TO ASSEMBLE ST. PATRICK’S DAY SNACK PLATTER
1 // Lay out all of your items and then chop all of your vegetables.
2 // Place any bowls or ramekins on your board diagonally from one another. I used 2 small bowls – one for Spinach dip and one for guac.
3 // Take your first item and separate it into 3 piles. Add your next item and split it up 3 ways trying to stagger the piles across the board.
4 // Continue with the rest of your items. You don’t have to stick with piles of 3, but use it as a general rule. At the end, you can start filling holes with whatever items you have left.
5 // I added the gold rolos at the end in little clusters of 3 throughout the board to break up the green. The gold shamrock and mini gold forks were last minute additions, but I’m so glad I found them!
6 // Serve your board to your crew and let them go to town!
Tip: The board looks best when it’s full, so any fillers will do. I grabbed spinach leaves and basil from the fridge and magnolia leaves my Spring centerpiece on my Dining Room table.
The boys were all over this thing the second I set it out! We snacked on these green munchies all Saturday afternoon up and through dinner!
This green snack platter would be so cute to set up as an after school snack for your kids on St. Patrick’s Day. It really doesn’t have to be elaborate! In fact, you could even use a large plate if you don’t have a board. Anything goes – honestly, they’ll love anything green!
OTHER ITEMS YOU COULD USE ON YOUR ST. PATRICK’S DAY SNACK PLATTER
- snap peas
- celery
- cucumbers
- kiwi
- green m&m’s
- cauliflower
- yogurt dip for the fruit
I was most excited to find the Guacamole chips and the mint filled cookies at the store. Again, I didn’t have much of a plan, but grabbed for as many green things as I could find that I knew they would actually like and eat!
I hope this was a fun post and you’ll consider putting something like this together, even if it’s just for your own family!
