Hellooo and happy Friday, friends!! I’m still on this wild ride of a week coming off of a weekend in Vegas, Ted’s birthday and putting the house back together after the kitchen painting project. Our house was tore up for almost a week! We’re getting ready to head out again this weekend to celebrate the marriage of a dear friend, but wanted to pop in with The Friday Five today! Come on over and see what we’ve been up to. I’ve got a few random tidbits to share with you!

THE FRIDAY FIVE
KITCHEN CABINET SNEAK PEEK
I wasnt able to get my ORC Week #3 update posted this week, but had planned to share a sneak peek of our newly painted kitchen cabinets. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. It truly feels like a brand new kitchen! We have a little ways to go in the Kitchen + Family Room Refresh before the end of the challenge, but we made a HUGE dent in our progress after the painting was completed.
The kitchen feels bigger, brighter and newer – everything I was hoping to achieve with a paint update!
I’ll have a post with more updates on the two spaces ready for next week. I’ve got another big element scheduled to be transformed!!
40TH BDAY + SURPRISE TRIP TO VEGAS
If you saw my stories over the weekend, you saw that we celebrated Ted’s 40th birthday last Friday with a party that night and then a surprise trip to Vegas on Saturday. I gave him 40 gifts [more details to come] and gifts 35-40 were all hints about Vegas with #40 being tickets to the Chicago Bears game at the new Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
I hope to do a full recap on our amazing weekend soon! For now, I’ll go in and make a highlight bubble on my Instagram profile so you can see everywhere we went and everything we did.
Not to mention it will always be a birthday to remember since we got caught in the Southwest Airlines debacle for our return flight home on Monday.

We took. a. bus. I kid you not. Nothing like ending the big birthday weekend with a bang!!
NEW SUNNIES – BOGO
A few weeks ago I decided to take advantage of the QUAY sunglasses BOGO free sale and absolutely love the 2 pairs I grabbed. One pair is a really unique taupey tan color and the other pair is black with a gold top edge.
I love them both!
My friend has this pair and they are SO good in person. It’s hard to see the gold detail on the sides, but they are stunning!
I’ve already got 2 more pairs [if not more] picked out for the next time they run that sale. You can usually always find a 20% off sale, a BOGO 1/2 price and if you’re lucky, BOGO free. I’ll be on the lookout for when it comes around again!
ELEVATED LOUNGE SWEATSHIRT
Do you remember when I shared a few pieces I ordered from LOFT? Well they came in and are so good! I wore the burgundy faux leather pants [so comfortable and chic] in Vegas with a black top, but this striped lounge sweatshirt was worn at least 3 times this week already. Even though our days are still reaching temps in the 80’s, our mornings start off in the 50’s so a sweatshirt is a great layering option!
Isn’t it cute?
I’m in a size small and would say size up in the sweatshirt if you’re in between.
