Powder Room Refresh Update // We Have Black Walls

Hey, friends! Its Thursday which means another One Room Challenge update is coming today. I’ve been in Charleston since last Saturday and I had my painter scheduled to come while I was gone, so I was eagerly awaiting a peek at the Powder Room walls upon my return home! Come take a look and see how things are shaping up. Here is a Powder Room Refresh Update…

It’s been a slow go so far this round, but now that I’m back from my trip it’s full steam ahead!

And wow! With the freshly painted walls, I’m suddenly uber motivated to keep things moving along in there!

To be honest, the painted walls might be the biggest transformation to take place in here the entire challenge…

POWDER ROOM REFRESH UPDATE // WE HAVE BLACK WALLS

Here is a quick look back at the before…

My contractor came to remove the tile off the walls and then had to repair the drywall behind it.

He then had to add texture to match the existing wall texture we have throughout our home.

I sort of think it looks like a really cool croc print. Especially with the darker color! We chose SW Tricorn Black for the walls which is the same color we’ve used every other time we selected black as our color choice.

All the heart eyes for this transformation. I can’t wait to continue working in here over the next 4 weeks!

Now let’s take a quick look at the work ahead of us…

POWDER ROOM REFRESH TO-DO LIST:

• remove wall tile
• paint
• wallpaper – need to finalize selection & order
• replace pedestal sink with vanity – need to finalize selection & order
• new faucet & hardware fixtures – need to finalize selection & order
• find art – too many options – need to narrow down & order!
• swap mirror – have, just need to hang
• install new light fixture- need to finalize selection & order
• add rug- need to finalize selection & order
• new accessories
• MISCELLANEOUS TASKS & PROJECTS:

As you can see I have a long way to go, but with the fresh black paint, I feel like I’m headed in the right direction.

And I mean, couldn’t I almost call it good in here?!

I can’t get over how much of a dramatic difference the black walls made!

I’ll be focused on getting my materials & fixtures ordered today & tomorrow, so stay tuned for my selections.
