Primary Bedroom Design // Fall 2022 One Room Challenge

Today is a GREAT day! I’m happy to announce I’ll be participating in the Fall 2022 One Room Challenge for the SEVENTH time! These challenges always give me the nudge to get started, the motivation to consistently work on the space and the accountability to complete i! I am going to be transforming our Primary Bedroom this time around, so come take a look at the design & direction I’m heading…
Welcome to Week 1! I’m officially registered as a Guest Participant in the One Room Challenge and admittedly, I’m just as giddy to start this space as I have been for each room I’ve made over in the past.
This challenge, often referred to as the ORC will run for 8 weeks. I’ll share a weekly update or check-in and then reveal the space at the end on November 16th. I hope you’ll cheer me on and follow along. Its so much more fun that way! There are hundreds of participants and we’ll be doing the same for each other.
Linda from Calling it Home has built such a strong community of creatives, brands and media outlets through this challenge and I look forward to another go-round and checking another room off of the list!
I like to kick these challenges off with a breakdown of the space and a design board to share what my vision is. Believe it or not, I forgot to take official before photos of our bedroom. I’ve been planning for a couple of months, but I kept putting it off! And now that I’m in New York this week, it’s too late!
We’ve been in our AZ home for almost 15 months now [see our Empty house Tour here] and other than a new rug and dresser, the room is pretty bare.
We sold our old bedroom furniture set before the move last Summer so we only brought our mattress and lamps! My in-laws gave us a pair of nightstands years ago and they were previously used in our Basement Guest Bedroom in our last house. But they now sit on either side of the bed in our room.
Nightstand styling is one of my favorite things ever! So I’m excited to tackle the styling in here. If you’ve been around for awhile, then you’ve probably seen many iterations of our bedroom, although there was never an official reveal. It was just always a work in progress. I loved adding seasonal décor or just making consistent updates throughout.
So as you can imagine, I have lots and lots of ideas for our NEW bedroom space given that it was a pretty clean slate to start with. And because I have to get it over the finish line ha!
I did my best to illustrate my vision by creating this design…
None of these design elements are set in stone yet, but I will tell you I’ve made one major decision so far. And I just got an email with the tracking information. woo hoo! Some of what you see above will change, a few elements may be brought in to stay. You’ll have to wait and see! I’ll be sharing an update each Wednesday leading up to the final reveal on November 16th.
