Girl’s Getaway // Pickleball Weekend in Pinetop, AZ

Pickleball Weekend in Pinetop Arizona - This is our Bliss

I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to head to Pinetop, Arizona for a girls’ weekend to celebrate a friend’s birthday a couple of weeks ago. It was my very first trip to Northern Arizona and it did not disappoint! We enjoyed hanging out on the deck, a couple of dinners out, pickleball, game night and even some wine challenges in the woods. Pinetop-Lakeside is a popular destination for residents of Arizona. It’s a small town of about 4,000 people about 170 miles north of where I live [SE of Phoenix] with cooler temps and unbeatable views.

Many families spend long weekends or even full Summers up north to escape the heat and I now understand why! My girlfriend invited a group of us to join her for the weekend so we could hang out and have some fun. We were able to celebrate her birthday, play pickleball and relax and unwind!

We stayed at her in-law’s gorgeous cabin in the woods and soaked up every second of the cool temps and stunning scenery. Wine on the deck on Friday afternoon, Dinner at Pinetop Brewing co that night and then back to the cabin for games.

Saturday we woke up and played pickleball for a couple hours to start the day. There were 8 of us girls so it was a perfect match-up on the two courts. After playing, we headed to Wine Mountains for Wine tasting and a couple of mid-afternoon light bites.

We got home and decided to head outside to do some wine games in the woods. We laughed and laughed our way through a few Instagram-worthy [or maybe not so worthy ha!] challenges and then back in to get ready for dinner.

Cafe Pinoli was our dinner spot and it did not disappoint. The pasta hit the spot! Another game night back home in our pajamas was the perfect end to the day. We played a couple of rounds of sequence and a few card games. Sequence was new to me, but I want to get it to have at home. I think the boys would love it!

Sunday morning breakfast on the deck, followed by one last pickleball outing before we hit the road. It’s about a 3.5 drive home with the most incredible views through the canyon.

The weekend was the perfect reset all of us moms needed and a much-needed break from the extreme Arizona Summer heat! I’m so thankful for my new friendships here in Arizona and the opportunity to make memories like we did that weekend!
