Everyone has their go-to Super Bowl party must-haves, so those will probably be covered. If you want to make something super cute and memorable AND delicious, try this Football Cheese Ball Recipe!
I came across this recipe on Pinterest while looking for unique appetizers to make for the Big Game and knew I had to try it out! It came together pretty easily and was a huge hit! I did a test run a couple of weeks ago and made it to serve while watching the playoffs.
You can easily put one together this weekend for the Super Bowl!

HOW TO MAKE A FOOTBALL CHEESE BALL
FOOTBALL CHEESE BALL INGREDIENTS
- 2 blocks softened cream cheese
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp hot sauce (I used Siracha)
- 1 ranch seasoning packet
- 2 cups shredded cheese (I also added a small handful of Colby Jack)
- 4 green onions chopped
- 1 1/2 cups bacon pieces
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans
- 3 slices provolone cheese
- *optional: Mike’s Hot Honey
DIRECTIONS FOR HOW TO MAKE A FOOTBALL CHEESE BALL
ONE // Mix all ingredients (except pecans) and only one-half cup of the bacon in a bowl until combined.
TWO // Refrigerate mixture for 30-60 minutes
THREE // Place a piece of plastic wrap on the counter and put the cream cheese mixture on top. Wrap the plastic wrap around the mixture and roll/maneuver it into an oval shape. Then pinch the ends of the cheese ball to make a football shape.
FOUR // mix pecans and one cup of bacon on a plate. Then roll the cheese football around until the top & sides are covered. Use your hands to press it in.
*optional: Drizzle hot honey over the football before adding the provolone strips to the top!
FIVE // cut 3 long strips of provolone ( I use the center of each of the 3 slices) and then 4 smaller rectangle strips. Place on the ends & the center to create the football laces.
SIX // chill until ready to serve. Add your favorite crackers, pita chips, or pretzel crisps around the football and enjoy!
