Well, hello there! Can we pause for a second and talk about how insanely crazy it is that today is the first day of May?!! Not only have we endured a very loooong and cold winter with a not-so-very warm welcome into Spring [ummm it was 40 degrees last week], but it also means that our due date with Baby #3 is creeping that much closer! You might be following along with our soon-to-be little one’s nursery progress during the Spring 2018 One Room Challenge, but today, I’m taking a quick and truthfully, much needed break from the nursery updates and sharing a glimpse into our Spring/Summer home with a few Quick and Colorful Updates to our Master Bedroom.

I’ve joined Tammy of Pink Peppermint Design in the Beautiful Bedrooms Tour taking place all week! She invited 20 bloggers to share all sorts of bedroom goodness with you in hopes to drum up some inspiration for any bedroom you might be looking to tackle! If you made your way here via Designer Trapped in a Lawyer’s Body, then welcome!
Come on in and have a look…a little before and a few afters!
So you’ve seen bits and pieces of our Master Bedroom in this house over the course of the last 18 months or so. The transformation all started when I decided we needed a bold statement in our bedroom, so a wallpaper accent wall went up!
Then new bedding and some fresh nightstand styling came about last summer…
Next up was the addition of these fabulous Malachite throw pillows and a black and white gallery wall…
The green transitioned effortlessly right into the holidays…
But, after the holidays were behind us the room was lacking a “look”. It was begging for some sprucing, but now what?!
I found myself wanting to make a few minor changes to our bedroom for the upcoming Spring and Summer months, and since styling my nightstand is one of favorite things to do [see my nightstand styling tips here], it only made sense to make a couple quick updates there!
QUICK & COLORFUL BEDROOM UPDATES
I purchased two coordinating digital download prints on Etsy [this one and this one] and had them printed at Walgreens. My go-to place to have prints and enlargements made is Costco, but Walgreens just happened to be more convenient that day! Plus they were having a 40% off all prints sale, so it was good timing.
The white square frame on the left side of the bed is a great fit positioned just under our gold bamboo framed family photo, so I simply swapped out the art. Instant [and colorful!] update. I traded out the black and white coffee table books for some that were lighter in color. Living With Pattern and Domino both have gorgeous covers and spines and really helped to lighten and brighten the table. With dark furniture in this room, I’m always looking for ways to add a pop of white…orrrr more pattern!
A new black and white striped pot from HomeGoods and a bouquet of fresh Chamomile from Trader Joes and this side was pretty much done!
Working our way across the bed, you’ll notice the bedding remained the same since last year along with these Euro Tassel pillows, the green malachite ones and the ticking stripe lumbars in front.
The nightstand on the right previously had our pink tinted maternity photo leaning behind a stack of books, but I decided to take the other digital abstract art print and hang it with a very small nail in a white frame. It’s so hard to think about putting any holes in this wallpaper!
The only other new additions are the fresh flowers in my knock-off Pottery Barn vase you saw in my Spring Dining Room Tour and this cute black and gold Project 62 clock from Target.

Not only do I love having the colorful coordinating art prints to balance out the two sides of the bed, but I’m also reminded how much I’m still obsessing over the color green! Ever since we went bold with our Hunter Green kitchen island, I joke that green is the new neutral in our home. It’s made it’s way into all of our spaces lately!
And that is about all! One of these days I promise to show you another side of our room, but for now, I’ll just leave the heaping pile of clothes there and save that angle for a future date!
Since the nursery isn’t quite finished yet, here is a peek at a couple of the other bedrooms in our home…
And in our last house…
And finally, our old Master Bedroom…
Now, be sure to head over to Remodelacasa’s beautiful bedroom and then hit up the rest of the stops in the tour taking place through Thursday this week! Thanks again to Tammy for rounding us all up!

May 1, 2018 at 11:30 AMMy, you have a lot of bedrooms!! And they are all magazine-worthy!! Beautiful!! I you ever wanted a different look in your bedroom, you could replace the green pillows with a medium blush pink…..and add pink accents in the room. A bold pink would even go well with the prints you just put up. I love how you put everything together, especially the wallpaper!! I KNEW that would come back in style again! Now, relax and get plenty of rest before that new blessing is born!!!! ๐
