Other Rooms I’m Tackling

I know, I know.  You probably think I am crazy, but I just can’t help myself.  It is totally normal for me to have 65 million projects going on at once, which is no surprise as to why I find it hard to actually finish something in its entirety.  I tend to leave loose ends everywhere, but who am I kidding?  I don’t believe I am alone on this one.

The 2 rooms I am working on in our home (other than the obvious one) is our loft/office/craft room/soon-to-be guest room and the once dining room, turned playroom.  The loft area is basically a bonus room above our garage that houses a little of everything right now.  We have a couch & coffee table up there, a desk & computer, a toy bin, a large IKEA EXPEDIT (which is apparently now called the KALLAX Shelf?) for storing my craft supplies, etc. and after this weekend, the couch is out and a guest bed & dresser are moving in.  Since nursery #2 is currently a guest room, we are removing the furniture from it and making room for the baby’s things.  We do have an alternative guest room with a queen size bed, but with all out of town family, we find that both beds are used at the same time every now and then. Since we have the bed, we might as well continue to use it.  At least that is our logic.  If we didn’t have a guest bed in the soon-to-be nursery, we wouldn’t be buying a new one just to have a second one.  Outside of moving furniture around in this room, I am working on purging and organizing everything in it (& making it look pretty too 🙂 ).

Here are a few shots I took while I played around with styling the accessories on my desk and shelving unit.

This room is filled with bright red, oranges and of course, black, white & gold.

I will post the entire unit once it’s “done”, along with additional shots of the room.

The other room I am in the midst of finishing up is the room to the left of our front entryway and also connects to our family room.  We hauled the dining room table & chairs to the basement, laid a rug down and filled it with toys! TA-DA!  There you have a DIY toy room.  I of course, can’t leave it at that.  When good isn’t good enough, I tend to want to do more.  We painted,  bought and hung new curtains, put a large, plush area rug down and am now decorating the walls.  I have a few project ideas for the space on the walls and am slowly, but surely working on gettin’ em done.

I will post a Playroom Tour once I finish slapping some things on the walls and have it picked up for 5 seconds or long enough to take a couple photos.  Now that we’ve taken a short break from the nursery, I better get back at it.  Working on a pillow project, crafting up an idea for a unique gallery wall and the baby’s closet is about to undergo a huge transformation this weekend when we install the closet system and a few other surprises.  So glad April is finally here, but I am also reminded I have a baby coming next month.  WOW!  Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy the rest of your day!
