There is so much joy [and Chicago wind and coldness!] in the air at this time of the year. One of the things I find the most joy in, is the tradition of exchanging holiday cards with family and friends. When I sit down to create our holiday card each year, I look forward to a seamless experience without any stress or hassle. Who has time for that?!! From art prints and curtains, to ornaments [and even the bright & shiny table runner you saw in our Merry & Metallic Christmas Dining Room tour!] and Holiday cards, Minted will ALWAYS be at the top of my go-to list for such items! Their selection is amazing and their curated collection is full of pieces created by talented and aspiring independent artists. Last year, I posted about Minted’s beautiful holiday card collection, but this year, while I am ooohing and ahhhing about how wonderful Minted is, I thought I would share a peek of our family’s actual Christmas card with you!
I am a sucker for anything metallic. News flash? No.
So, for this year’s card I selected a design that had a touch of metallic rose gold foil, but wasn’t too over the top. It was simple, but added just the right amount of pizzazz.
Here is our family’s 2016 Christmas Card…
There are over 900 holiday card designs to choose from and with over 700 of them, you can choose a “foil-pressed” design. The options are gold, silver or rose gold. The even have a couple “glittery” options! What I love about the design we selected, is that it is highly customizable. We chose to have the words “Merry Christmas” as the message on the front, but you can also choose from “Happy Holidays”, “Happy New Year” and “Blessings Abound” to fit your preference. Other options from recipient addressing, to photo collages and text boxes on the back to even purchasing stamps right then and there, are available, but we went with a simple collage on the back in a combination of color and black and white photos.
We selected a couple of full family shots, each of the boys individually and then 2 images of them together. Be still my heart!!
Minted even wrote my name and who it was packaged by on the sticker by hand.
Love the personal touch!
Oh and I forgot to take a picture of our envelopes, but this is the design we went with for the recipient address…
It sort of gives that “hand-written” look to it, which I adore!
I adore how our card turned out! Not only do I love sitting down to create our card each year, but I also love seeing others’ beautiful cards in the mail! Sure, they still go out via snail mail, but it’s truly a holiday tradition that I hope lives on forever! Here’s another peek at our card and family photos…
