The Friday Five

Hi, friends! Our favorite day of the week is here! While it was somewhat of a quiet week as a family of 3 [bigs are at my parents’], it sure did go by quickly! Its funny how I thought I would have all this *extra* time to do all the things, but I was quickly reminded just how active 2 year olds are, especially when his big brothers aren’t here to entertain him! Oh how I love this craaazy life eek! Today, I’m back with The Friday Five and I’m sharing the random tidbits, happenings, finds and more from the week!

If you need to get caught up on all the past posts in The Friday Five series, head here!

THE FRIDAY FIVE

I’ve got our date night diary, a little patriotic style, a backyard storage solution, a cute pic of Win [;)] and then I need your help at the end of the post.

We’re in a very serious predicament 😉

ONE || DATE NIGHT DIARIES

The big boys went to my parent’s in Iowa for the week after they visited here for Winston’s 2nd birthday. Going from 3 kids down to 1 is like a vacation! We were spinning with what to do with ourselves and while we just enjoyed time with the littlest [as well as thoroughly enjoy naptime, our nights after 7:30 and mornings before 8:30!] we decided to get a sitter one night and head out.

In order to maximize our experience, we made not 1, but TWO reservations at our favorite spots.

Martinis & a salad at the first spot and margaritas & tacos at the second stop. Both places have great little patios and we had so much fun switching up the scene from one place to the next. Main Street Social & Milwauky Taco are across the street from each other which made it so easy to pop over to our 2nd reservation.

His selfie game is getting pretty good!

Have you guys been out for date night yet? Are restaurants starting to open up in your areas?!

We’ve loved hunkering down and being home, but we just felt so much lighter and freer this week so we thought sneaking in a date night was a no-brainer!

TWO || OUR LITTLE FISH

While we were so thankful to have had our little inflatable pool set-up in the backyard the last few weeks, it’s so nice to have a change of scenery!

Our pool opened on Monday and I was able to book 3 reservations for this week for just little man and me. Monday we got rained out, but Tuesday & Thursday we conquered the pool for the first time this Summer.

Apple juice + having mom all to himself — he was definitely living his best life!

We have to book a time slot through an online reservation system and they only allow up to 15 families. You get assigned a lane when you arrive and then have your lounge chairs or dining table reserved. Right now they are alternating swim time every 20 minutes between 2 families until further notice, but with just one little one, I didn’t have any complaints!

He was just happy to dip in a few time!

When the bigs are back, it might be another story 😉

THREE || RED, WHITE & BLUE UNDER $25

It’s hard to believe the 4th of July is right around the corner! Earlier this year, I rounded up some Patriotic Style Finds and some backyard staycation games and outdoor gear. I’ve updated the gallery in that post with some new finds, but thought it would be good to share them here as well!

It’s always fun to add a little red, white and blue to the mix over the 4th of July!

Here are a few of my picks:

I think this jean jacket is SO fun for any day or night! Something different to spice up your basic jean jacket look. It’s similar to the one I have above!

And how cute with this simple white t-shirt dress?!

These sunnies are darling and I’ll share a pic of me wearing them soon!

FOUR || OUTDOOR STORAGE SOLUTION + FURNITURE COVERS

With the addition of our small blow-up pool and a few other knick knacks #lifewith3boys for the backyard, we’ve come to realize our current outdoor storage box wasn’t going to cut it anymore. While it’s great for all the water guns, bubbles and balls, it didn’t fit the larger inflatables – we also have a bounce house.

This will be our 4th Summer with it and I can’t recommend it enough for occupying the kids! They still LOVE this thing!

We ordered this outdoor storage unit [if it’s sold out, you can get it here] and think its going to be a great solution! It’s a neutral beige color, with double doors and an interior shelf. Perfect for housing our larger items and their coordinating pumps and air-blowers. Once it’s all set-up, I’ll share it again!

These patio furniture covers are also on their way to us. One for each of the seating areas / sofas and I still need to find one for our new fire pit table [which we love so much, btw ;)]

 It’s crazy how fast you start to accumulate things with kids and since we don’t have much storage in our home [+ the garage is full, yikes], hopefully we are in good shape now!

FIVE || BINGING BILLIONS

Help! We have been binging Billions and now we don’t know what to watch next? I shared my Top Shows to Binge Watch Right Now a couple months ago at the start of Stay-at-Home, but I feel like that was ages ago!! We’ve definitely been in a time warp!

Since that post we’ve watched Dead to Me Season 2, Ozark Season 3, Little Fires Everywhere Season 1, finished the final seasons of Power & Homeland and are 3 episodes away from finishing the current Season [5] of Billions!

What are your top 3 recommendations?!

We’re deciding between The Morning Show, Outerbanks, Succession and Yellowstone. But then again our to-watch-next list is at least 25 shows long!

So, seriously! Help us out!

I hope you guys have the BEST weekend! We’re off to pick up the big boys and celebrate my Dad’s bday! I might be popping in this weekend with some sales and items on my wishlist, but otherwise, I’ll be back next week!
