I love the fresh start of a new week! Time to refocus and reprioritize all tasks on deck! I’m back today with another Mood Board Monday post and this one is a space I’ve been working on for a client in Arizona! She’s enlisted my help with not only her home in Iowa, but also their home in the sunshine. Today I’m sharing the details on their Warm & Welcoming Family Room that I worked on earlier this year! This space was a fun project because we had such a great foundation already in place! She has these gorgeous cognac leather couches and an absolutely incredible piece of art [shown below] that she purchased from a local artist. My client actually has several of this woman’s pieces throughout her Arizona home. They bring so much unique character and interest to each room.
You can check out all of the Mood / Design boards I’ve created here.
Come see how I designed the space around these fabulous pieces!

FAMILY ROOM DETAILS
My mood boards serve as the starting point for a space, but they often morph and develop throughout the process. This particular family room space stayed the course for the most part with a few exceptions.
We were going for a neutral, relaxed vibe in this space and since their couches were this warm cognac color, they served as a great starting point to the color palette as well as the overall look and feel of the room.
And that art piece!!
The art is so striking in person, so this image doesn’t do it justice. It’s a mixed media piece and its 3-dimensional so you can imagine how difficult it is to convey digitally!!
I installed this exact neutral abstract rug and absolutely LOVE how it looks in here! I found a really unique glass, wood and metal coffee table and end table at a local furniture store, but gosh do I love the one pictured above. The gray swivel chair I used was so similar to this one and I ended up grabbing all of the pillows for the sofas at HomeGoods.
I had the best luck in Jan, Feb & March with pillows there! I think I outfitted this family room and 2 other bedrooms with all HomeGoods pillows. Lucky for us, but not necessarily for you since I can’t link to the exact ones!
I’ll do my best to source similar ones when I share the reveal. The room is basically complete, but I still need to take the after photos!
Since its been a little while since my last Mood Board Monday post, I will try to get back to a monthly schedule. I hope you enjoy seeing parts of the process as I work to decorate and style spaces in the homes of others. Maybe you’ll grab some inspiration along the way!

Have a great week! I’ll be back with a few posts this week in between more packing and purging the house. Less than 3 weeks until the move!
