I kicked off the start of my 6th One Room Challenge last week when I first introduced the space I’ll be working on this Spring. We are planning to de-brown and de-beige our Powder Room over the course of these 8 weeks while we transform it into something more modern and more my style.
You can follow along with all One Room Challenge participants each week as we share our updates and progress reports!
Do you remember back to the Powder Room in our last house?
I actually gave it a quick facelift during the $100 Room Challenge and did something unique with the vanity. I painted it pink…
Well, fast forward to this house and this Challenge, and my craving for a small dose of pink is still there!
Come see how I plan to use it!

Look up! Do you see it?!
I’ve always wanted to go bold and dramatic with the walls & ceilings in a room, so here is my chance to do both. I was madly in love with our black interior doors in our last house and I’ve been itching to have black walls somewhere, especially after our kitchen island and family room built-ins were done last Fall.
And did you catch my stories this week? If so, then you saw where I just used some black paint I’ll share more soon if you missed it!
When I first stumbled upon that wallpaper, I knew it would be the perfect dramatic, yet feminine feature I was looking for.
From there, the name “Drama Queen” just fit!
After all, I live in a house with 4 boys. I deserve to sneak something pink and girly somewhere in this house
DRAMA = dark, bold
QUEEN = feminine, edgy, chic
I’m planning to go glam and chic with the hardware and fixtures to really pop against the dark walls. Then I plan to use up a ton of old thrifted frames and insert some funky art pieces to create a statement gallery wall on one side.
I can’t wait to get going in here. I’m really itching to see it come alive.
Stay tuned for more One Room Challenge updates each week!
