Hello and welcome to week 2 of the One Room Challenge! This week I’m sharing the Big Boy Room Mood Board and Design Plans in hopes to get this project off the ground ASAP. Now that I feel like I finally have a direction, I can’t wait to get this room going!
If you’re just tuning in, today marks the second week of the One Room Challenge, an 8-week design challenge hosted by Calling it Home and takes place twice per year. I am participating in it for the EIGHTH time! It’s where hundreds of bloggers and content creators transform a space in our homes, share weekly updates, and then reveal the finished project at the end of the challenge.
You can see all of my ORC posts here and all boy room-related posts here! And if you’re looking for some design inspo, be sure to check out my full Gallery of Mood Boards & Designs for various rooms.
You can see the before photos of my littlest’s room in last week’s post. I am planning to take his boring beige space and infuse some of his bold & bright personality into it.
Here is what I’m thinking…
BIG BOY ROOM MOOD BOARD & DESIGN PLANS
wallpaper // faux palm plant // modern wooden letter // orange pillows // smiley face pillow // ceiling fan // ha ha ha art print // cowboy art // 3-D disco ball art // Cool KID art // thumbs up hooks // hanging chair // blue blanket // small gold lamp // chest of drawers // circle knobs // rug
What do you think?!
Several of these items are definitely going to make their way into the room and several others, I’m still debating on whether or not they’ll make the cut!
Our little guy is happy, silly, funny and you can usually find him busting a move anywhere and everywhere. I added this super cool 3-D disco ball art piece to the design to bring a little funk to the space and symbolize his love for the dance floor! Plus I love that it will be sparkly & shiny 😉
His nursery rocker is still in his room and since we really don’t use it much, I think this hanging rattan egg chair would be a fantastic swap!
The chest of drawers next to his bed was actually the dresser in his nursery closet [see the full nursery here] but we removed the changing table topper to be able to use it as a nightstand in this house.
The abstract wallpaper is neutral, but playful and allows for art pieces to really pop off the wall with bold black frames and colorful images.
Blue & orange are currently his favorite colors, so I wanted to incorporate them into the palette.
And isn’t that smiley face pillow the cutest?!
