Hi friends! This post is long overdue, like extremely overdue. While dealing with some personal health issues last Fall, our oldest’s room project fell to the backburner. I wasn’t able to complete the Tween Room Refresh in time to reveal it for the One Room Challenge, but I have been slowly plugging away to get it over the finish line. I installed the peel and stick wallpaper before the holidays [and just recently finished styling the wall], so today I’m sharing the Wallpaper Accent Wall // Basement Tween Boy Room Refresh!

It’s no secret, I absolutely LOVE designing spaces that showcase a statement wall and Tempaper’s peel and stick wallpaper has been my go-to for many spaces in several of our homes. You can see our Primary Bedroom Accent Wall here and our Littlest’s Big Boy Room here.
Wallpaper Accent Wall // Basement Tween Boy Room Refresh
While planning the design direction for our oldest’s room refresh, I knew I wanted to incorporate design and décor elements that will grow with him. But as a twelve-year old boy, I know his passions and hobbies may evolve and change over time, so starting with a simple, neutral wallpaper pattern was the best decision. Using this gray & white line paper, still allows for fun and colorful art and other wall décor to really pop! [* Also the details for all of the art, etc., soon!]
I just love how it turned out!
And for reference, here is where we started…
The installation process only took a few supplies and a couple of hours to complete.
Here is what I used to install the removable wallpaper:
- ladder
- craft knife
- scissors
- level
- tape measure
- smoothing tool / squeegee
- *you can enlist the help of a friend or family member, but i was able to tackle this wall on my own!
And voila, a brand new “wall” in one evening!
I still have some styling to wrap up on the other walls, but we are super close to calling it done! I’ll be back with a final reveal sometime in the next couple of weeks full of details and sources, so be on the lookout!
