Kitchen + Family Room Mood Board & Design Plans // Fall 2021 ORC

Well, the party has started! We kicked off our ORC project last week and what a week its been! We’ve started work on our Kitchen and Family Room spaces and its already beginning to transform into our vision! Today is one of my absolute favorite types of posts. I’m sharing the Kitchen + Family Room Mood Board & Design Plans so you can see my vision for what direction these rooms are headed! I love to create so dreaming up a space in my head and then working to get it all laid out on a “board” is truly an exciting and enjoyable process for me. I hope you love our plans! 

Welcome to Week 2 of the Fall 2021 One Room Challenge. I am stoked to be participating in the challenge again. The opportunity to move these two spaces in our new home feels amazing!

Every week I’ll be sharing an update on where we’re at with our Kitchen + Family Room Refresh and then revealing it at the end of November [right before Thanksgiving]!

Last week I shared the Before photos and our to do list, so this week you’ll see what I’ve been working on behind the scenes.

KITCHEN + FAMILY ROOM REFRESH MOOD BOARD & DESIGN PLANS

We moved into our new home in July and knew the Kitchen project was going to be high on our priority list. The wood cabinets made the space feel dark and dated and we wanted light and bright. Painting the kitchen, but keeping the same layout and footprint felt like the best option. I’ll be sharing a painting update next week, so stay tuned.

Even just seeing the white in the design below makes me happy!

Are you as excited as I am to see these designs come to life?!

If you remember back to the before photos from last week, then you saw how these two rooms are one large open concept space, so I couldn’t really refresh one without the other.

I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me, but I’ll be chipping away little by little each week. And once all of the labor is complete, it will be my turn to decorate and style – my favorite part!
