THE FRIDAY FIVE

ONE // THE 30 DAY SPRING STYLE MY CLOSET CHALLENGE STARTS TODAY

ICYMI Heather and I just kicked off a new SMCC – Spring Edition! We are challenging ourselves to get dressed every day in the month of April. We’re aiming to stop reaching for the easy athleisure wear and start reaching for all the cute Spring clothes actually inside our closets!

You can join us, too! Follow along on Instagram to see our daily looks. You can use the hashtag #stylemyclosetchallenge and tag us @thisisourbliss & @southernheather in your Spring outfits in April.

I guess I better get myself in gear to get dressed today ๐Ÿ˜‰

TWO // LIFE UPDATE: WE GOT A MINI VAN!

Yes, you read that right! Those of you who know me know I’ve been boycotting a van for nearly 10 years now. Ted actually first started trying to convince me when I was pregnant with Henry, our first. I was adamant that A- I was not going to be a van mom and B- I definitely wasn’t going to be a van mom before I was 30 and with only one child. Well, fast-forward to 3 boys later and I finally caved.

It. was. time.

The amount of door dings, wall dents and times I’ve held my breath when they get in and out of the car was no longer a number I could stomach.

So, I’m now officially a soccer mama driving a mini van!

We got a Honda Odyssey and if I’m being honest, I love it so far. We’ve only had it a few days, but the ease of getting the boys in and out of the car is truly unmatched. I’m used to driving my big Yukon [which we kept] so I’m still adjusting to being so low to the ground. But I will say I’m super impressed with the amount of storage in the back, there are cupholders everywhere and I know longer have to close my eyes and pray when one of the boys opens the door.

10/10 so far, but I’ll keep you posted as we get acclimated to our new way of life ๐Ÿ˜‰

THREE // SPRING SHOE SPOTLIGHT

Do you ever wish you had the perfect sandal that would go with everything? A pair thats in between dressy and casual, doesn’t have too high of a heel, is extremely comfortable and can be worn with any and all colors?

Well, I found them.

I had been eyeing these clear strap cork block heels from Schutz for at least a couple years and kept talking myself out of them. The price point is not outrageous and its not like I haven’t spent $100 on my fair share of shoes, but for whatever reason I never pulled the trigger.

I finally decided to order them right before Spring Break and now I don’t know how I ever lived without them. I’ve worn them at least 3 times in the last week and paired them with nearly every single outfit in my March Amazon Haul earlier this week!

Did you notice? ๐Ÿ˜‰

These sandals work with jeans, shorts, cover-ups and dresses. I honestly can’t think of something I couldn’t wear them with.

They are good and I know they will be the shoe I pack for every Spring and Summer trip because they will serve as my casual and dressy shoe.

I HIGHLY recommend! I ordered a size 8 and they fit like a glove.
