Want to have the scents of Christmas floating throughout your home all season long?! Instead of burning a candle, try a Christmas Simmer Pot! Today I’m sharing How to Make Stovetop Christmas Potpourri as my first holiday post of the year!
I have so many fun holiday ideas to share this season, so thought I’d kick off my Christmas content today to start off the week!
HOW TO MAKE STOVETOP CHRISTMAS POTPOURRI
A Christmas Simmer Pot or Stovetop Potpourri is when you take all of the goodies that make up the scents of Christmas, add it to a pot of water and simmer it on the stovetop all day and night. It creates this warm magical scent that fills your home unlike any candle or air freshener can do.
Make up a little bag or jar of the ingredients I’m going to share and gift it to friends and family this season. It would make a darling hostess gift, too. Just tie the bag around a bottle of wine and you’re out the door.
It’s super simple and incredibly yummy!

INGREDIENTS FOR SIMPLE STOVETOP CHRISTMAS POTPOURRI
1/2 cup fresh cranberries
1 orange sliced
4 cinnamon sticks
3 Rosemary sprigs
1 tablespoon cloves
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
3 cups of water
DIRECTIONS FOR SIMPLE STOVETOP CHRISTMAS POTPOURRI
STEP 1 // Add water & other ingredients to your pan.
STEP 2 // Bring it to a simmer over low heat [uncovered]
STEP 3 // Simmer on the stovetop for as long as you want, checking the water periodically. Add more water it If it gets low.
STEP 4 // Enjoy the smell of Christmas throughout your home!
