Cheers to the weekend! So glad you’re here to wine-down with me! It’s time to hang out for a bit and catch up on all the happenings around here! Today I’m sharing another Weekend Wine-down, so grab your glass and get comfy!
We survived Halloween! In the snow! Halloween is always a crazy day from dawn to dusk, but this year when you add 5 inches of snow and 30 degree temperatures, it takes things to a whole new level!
That was taken an hour before trick-or-treating! *sigh*
I volunteered in Simon’s Kindergarten class party and we made our way home to regroup before bundling up and hitting the neighborhood.
Our town actually rescheduled official Trick-or-treating hours to Saturday, but a group of us in our subdivision decided to let the kids collect their treats on Thursday, too, if they wanted. A neighbor volunteered to make orange signs for everyone to put in the window near their door to indicate which day(s) they were participating! It worked out perfectly 😊
Our night was *SUPER*!
It was actually our first year dressing up in coordinating costumes. These years of the boys wanting to be superheros or anything coordinated are fleeting. So when the bigs declared they want to be Batman and Superman, you forego the hand-me-down bin and order the baby a Superhero costume, too! I think he was *slated* to be a pumpkin if I recall back several years, but this was much cuter.
I whipped up my simple bat girl costume and everyone else’s were Amazon!
I used this image, printed and cut it out and then traced it on yellow piece of felt. A couple safety pins on my black sweater and it was a done deal!
Clark Kent took one for the team and made the lap around the block with the bigs in the snow and I stayed back with my Super baby 😊
Everyone came back with snowy boots and full candy sacks.
A cup of cocoa for the boys and apple cider Moscow mules [I’ll be sharing the recipe soon, so be on the lookout – they were delicious!] for T and me and several bowls of chili later, we called it a night!
I’ll have to also share my red chili recipe sometime soon. We had to buy a new crockpot after 2 of ours broke this year and I’m loving this one so far!
And since I didn’t overindulge in all the candy on Thursday night, I decided my Reese’s and Almond Joys would taste perfectly delicious with my Friday morning coffee ha!
Anyone else incorporate candy into their morning routine the days following Halloween!?
Our Halloween festivities started last weekend with a pumpkin carving party on Saturday and another party on Sunday.
There really is no better Sunday Funday than with a hayride, DJ and a dance party in costume!
Oh and I attempted to take a few pictures on Wednesday night in the matching Halloween pj’s I bought. This is the best we got!
I’m going to put them in matching jammies until they refuse. But even then, I may go to battle 😉
We wrapped up all 31 days of the Style My Closet Challenge and will be bringing you part 3 of our recap next week. We’ve received tremendous feedback from you guys and we couldn’t have had more fun!
Other than the fact my arm is sore from my porch selfies each day, it was overall a great challenge!
Layered Love day was one of my favorites! I’ve been so into polka dots lately! You can see days 12-21 in Style My Closet Challenge Update part 2.
It was nice to have some order and inspiration but the thought of wearing whatever I want next week is freeing ha!

Also, since you guys loved this leopard pumpkin tee shirt so much last month, I thought I’d share this darling “Thankful” tee shirt I recently ordered.
I’m not really into big wording or the classic – GRATEFUL, THANKFUL, BLESSED typography tee’s, so I love that this one is subtle, but cute.
