Happy Friday, sweet friends! We made it yet another week at home. With all 3 boys and T here around the clock, it’s no wonder I still look forward to the weekend. It just feels lighter! Although the hours, days and weeks have sort of blurred together, I can’t help but feel excited when Friday rolls around. You too?! Today, I’m sharing some random tid bits from throughout the week with you for a new The Friday Five.
Just 5 things that are on my heart, my mind, in a box on my doorstep or maybe in my shopping cart ha!
Here they are…
THE FRIDAY FIVE
SANDAL SHOPPING SPREE
I’ll admit, I was doing really well holding out on clicking “check out” on numerous virtual shopping carts the last few weeks, but one day I gave in. I ordered 3 pairs of sandals during a sale and it was just what I needed!
HEART NECKLACE || STAR NECKLACE || NUDE LIPSTICK || STRETCH BRACELET TRIO || LEOPARD SANDALS
Retail therapy can do wonders for the soul [even in moderation]!
Do you know the feeling?!
Plus, when you wear a lot of black, you need a leopard sandal to spice up your outfit 😉
Here are the ones I caved in and bought:
CLEAR STRAP SLIDES || LEOPARD BOW SANDALS || SNAKESKIN PRINT SANDALS
*I’m between 7.5 and 8 and went with a 7.5 in all of these. I usually have to do that with sandals because I have a narrow foot.
I’ve been preeeetty good during quarantine overall, but I’ve bought a few things here and there. Maybe I’ll publish another 15 Things I’m Currently Loving and share some of the things I’ve recently bought, are in my cart or have been eyeing!
You can always check out my Weekend Finds page to see what I’m eyeing 😉
SOMETIMES ALL YOU NEED IS A LITTLE INSPIRATION
I got so much wonderful feedback from you guys on my 3 Kitchen Designs post I shared this week – so thank you!
The general consensus was that there are so many things we all want to get done around our homes right now, but determining where to start is the hardest part! Sometimes, all it takes is a spark of inspiration to ignite an entire project.
If you’re new around here, then I wanted to be sure to let you know I have an entire Mood Board Gallery as well as a Room Reveal Gallery with lots of projects and decor posts in between. But if you are simply looking for a starting point, then check out some of MY starting points [the mood & design boards I create] for each room project I take on.
Maybe it’s adding a new vase to your kitchen island or a dish towel to your stove…
Maybe all your bathroom needs is new hardware on the vanity…
A new comforter on the bed or matching table lamps on your nightstands?
You don’t need to gut your kitchen or overhaul your entire space to freshen it up a bit!
FAVORITE HAIR HACK
Give me all the beauty hacks right now! Yikes! My nails were in desperate need of help until I found this polish and the other main area that’s suffering right now is my hair. My roots – the grays!!
I was blessed to find my first gray at 18 an with super dark hair, they can be hard to hide without regular and frequent hair appointments.
This root cover-up is one I’ve used for years to hold me off between appointments and it works so well! It’s super inexpensive and I highly recommend it, especially for dark hair.
I’m not sure the best tip for my blondie girls, but I know the coverage and color of this product is great for brunettes!
I use shade Medium Brown or Dark Brown [depending on the time of year and what my stylist is doing with my color].
MOTHER’S DAY GIFT GUIDE SNEAK PEEK
Woot woot! I’ve got a great Mother’s Day Gift Guide coming to the blog next week and since I’ve already been working on it, I thought I’d share a few items today in case they start selling out!
I always love this time of year coming up ideas for my mom, my MIL and a wish list for myself [T, are you reading?!]
If you want to take a peek at last year’s Mother’s Day Gift Guide, there quite a few things still available.
To get a head start on your shopping, here are a few items I’m excited to share with you! Next week, I’ll have a ton more with all the details spelled out 😉
You could also check out all of my previous Gift Guides. Sometimes it just takes one idea to get the ball rolling!
“THE OPPORTUNITY IS WHAT WILL WE BE, NOT TO PRESERVE WHAT WE HAD”
A neighbor shared this with me and found it encouraging and inspiring!
In this video, Simon Sinek is talking to his team about the opportunity to reinvent themselves right now. He says, “I’m not worried about what I do. I’m worried about why I do it.” I love his inspiring message sharing how we can change our mindset and maybe even our literal job in order to be successful in these new and challenging times.
Mindset is half the battle. But with the right mindset, we are equipped to execute.
Just some food for thought going into the weekend!!
I hope you have a wonderful Friday and an even better Saturday & Sunday. We are zooming with friends this weekend, getting outside as much as we can if the rain will hold off and I’m hoping to at least start a painting project and hem some curtains!
Big plans, I tell you 😉 Stay safe!! xxoo
