Hello, hello, sweet friends! With sunshine in the forecast and another week of our new normal in the rearview mirror, it’s safe to say, cheers to the weekend! Most days I don’t know up from down, left from right, but I do know when it’s Friday and it’s finally here! So, come settle in and get ready for this week’s The Friday Five.
If you’re tuning in today for the first time, then welcome! Each Friday, I share five random tidbits from throughout the week. From style finds to sale items, home projects, new recipes, beauty hacks and more, it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a smorgasbord of anything and everything going on over here!
You can get caught up on the series here.
And now for this week’s edition…
THE FRIDAY FIVE
ONE || THE BEST T-SHIRT UNDER $10
I’m always on the hunt for a good go-to t-shirt. You can’t go wrong with a basic, solid-colored tee. I like to have multiples of white, black, gray and tan – you know… the basics!
While shopping for outdoor patio cushions, I stumbled upon these cuff sleeve tees. I ordered white and rust when they were 30% off and was so pleased with the fit and quality when they arrived!
white tee || raw hem straight leg jeans || clear strap sandals w/cork bottom || blush fitbit || gold bead stretch bracelet || stretch bracelet trio || open circle pendant
I ordered a small in the rust and sized up one to a medium in the white, but you definitely don’t need to. They are a looser fit and the v-neck and cuff sleeve details is so good! And you guys, even if you pay full price for them, they are only $9! I would snag them in 2 or 3 colors before the secret gets out!
In fact, they are 2 for $16 right now. Run!
A classic v-neck t-shirt is a closet staple and while I love some of my tees from J. Crew and Nordstrom, these are right up there as a new favorite!
TWO || A NEW INGREDIENT TO OUR SKINNY SPICY MARGARITA
We celebrated Cinco De Mayo with skinny spicy margaritas at home and then when the weekend rolled around, we were in the mood for a marg again! This time, after squeezing in the fresh lime juice, I took a half of a cutie orange and put it in the citrus squeezer.
Ok, talk about game-changer! The subtle touch of orange flavor took our current favorite drink to a whole new level. If you haven’t tried it yet, you can check out the original Margarita recipe here!
THREE || MOVIE NIGHT CHARCUTERIE BOARD IDEA
I stumbled upon this scrumptious looking movie night snack board on Pinterest this week and thought it would be so fun to make something similar for one of our upcoming Throwback Thursday movie nights.
The boys would go nuts for this! I love putting together various Charcuterie boards and this type is now on my list to make. Perfect for family snacking!!
FOUR || SELF TANNER
There’s something about a sunkissed glow that makes everything better! And if you live in the midwest, you’ve been craving sunshine like I have for what feels like eons.
I recently tried a this self-tanner and this tanning mit [under $7] and loved the results! I hesitated sharing this today because my before and after pic vanished from my phone – poof! Gone!
I might wait 2 hours next time since I wanted to err on the side of caution for my trial run 😉
I’ll try to remember to take a picture next time I use it and then share!
FIVE || QUARANTINE BIRTHDAY PLANNING
Our middle, Simon turns 6 next week and I am in social distancing bday party planning mode! We’ve got a few surprises in store for him and I’ve started to order a few decorations to help him feel extra special on his special day. I’ll probably end up writing an entire post about our quarantine celebrations, but I’ll definitely share a snapshot or two in next week’s Friday Five.
It’s such a bitter sweet time for us right now and we’ve definitely had our fair share of hard days, so I’m thrilled to have something on the calendar for us all to look forward to…especially him 😉
A birthday celebration for the books!
If you’re in the planning phase for a special birthday, here are some ideas to get you started!:
We’re hoping to get more planters filled with flowers this weekend and even start on the deck project. Fingers crossed for dry, sunny weather even though there is some rain in the forecast!
How are you going to be spending your weekend?
Thanks for being here with me today! I’ll be here next week and hope to have you back with me again!
