The Friday Five

Happy Friday, all! Anyone else still recovering from the 4th of July weekend fun & sun?! Now that all 3 boys are back home, I’m recovering from dishes, laundry and noise!! #momlife! I have some super fun things to share with you for today’s The Friday Five. With the holiday weekend, I didn’t pop in last week, so I’ve got today’s items + a ton of posts planned for the coming weeks. Including a really exciting house project – details to come!

This week was one of those weeks! Lots of rain, 2 canceled pool reservations due to thunder, kids were restless, Winston broke a glass jar, emptied the filter of the vaccum in the middle of the kitchen and was super clingy. And I basically didn’t know what day it was all week!!

Last night, we landed on the couch to watch Hook for our Throwback Thursday Family Movie night and I felt my glass of wine was EARNED!

But today is Friday and I’m hitting reset. Anyone else?!

ONE || CUTE LOUNGEWEAR FOR SUMMER

You all know I love a good loungewear set! I shared a ton of my favorites in this post, this post and my favorite joggers in this post. But since the warmer months are here, I figured I could use a more seasonally appropriate set. I found this darling tank & ruffle trim short set and am in love!

There are several other color options including some tie dye versions and even a few long-sleeve / short sets for the cooler days this Summer [or perfect for Spring & Fall]!

This pink leopard set is $22 and the fit and details are darling. I’m in a size small.

This is one that’s been going on and off prime so grab it if you want it! With Amazon, its best to check-out with multiple orders if there are things you really want. Chances are if you add to cart and come back later, it’ll be gone or off prime!

TWO || SWIM + COVER-UP HAUL SNEAK PEEK

I’m almost done trying on and photographing some realllly cute swimwear to share with you guys! Hopefully I’ll have it ready to post on Monday or Tuesday, but wanted to share this hot pink cover-up now! Its the prettiest bold color and the fit is loose and comfy!

It’s reading more reddish here, but its a true HOT pink! And I love that it’s not clingy or revealing, so you can throw it on over any suit and have total peace of mind if you’re momming hard and chasing your littles around the pool!

THREE || BEST DENIM SHORTS UNDER $20

These high-rise boyfriend shorts are so cute! Such a great length [6″ inseam], great wash [medium] and I love the raw hem. They are ever so slightly distressed, but nothing crazy.

 I’m in a size 2, so I’d say you could size down or get your normal size if you want a looser, true “boyfriend” fit.

I threw these shorts on over my suit for our pool day [which never happened because of the thunder!!] with this palm kimono – so cute for $15! Such an easy look!

FOUR || READING LATELY

I finnnally finished The Dutch House. It took me a little while to get into, but ended up really enjoying it! When you have 5 minutes here or 10 minutes there, it’s difficult to really get immersed in a book. So now I’m trying to only pick up my book when I know I have at least 20 minutes to myself. It’s rare, but I’m determined to find it!

I started Winter in Paradise last week and am so excited to get my hands back on it this weekend. Each chapter alternates character narratives and the very first chapter takes place in Iowa City where I went to college. Love finding a connection like that so early on in a book.

I’ll be sure to keep you posted after I finish. Hoping I can zip through it this month! It’s book 1 of a 3 part series, so I definitely have something to look forward to.

This camo day tripper tote is EVERYTHING! It’s been my go-to laptop, plane carry-on or weekend car bag for years. It has a great camo exterior with the cutest pink floral interior. The bag even unzips across the middle section to elongate it to fit more things. It’s genius! Great interior pockets as well.

Sadly, it’s being retired, so grab it before it’s gone. The bag was originally $99 and its on sale for $59.99. It would make a great going away gift for a college student or treat yourself to a new bag perfect for the gym.

The black & white stripe version is adorable, too. The size of this bag is excellent!
