Bold & Classy Master Closet Mood Board

Bold and Classy Master Closet Mood Board - Closets by Liberty Closet update - This is our Bliss

You guys! I can’t even contain my excitement! We are diving into a big project and tackling, not one, but two closets! Our “his” and “hers” closets in our Master Bedroom. I’ve had dreams of making over our spaces since we moved in and we finally decided now is the time. Today I’m sharing my Bold & Classy Master Closet Mood Board, before photos and project checklist!

We’ve been in our house 4 years this Summer and several spaces in our home are still incredibly lackluster, include our closets. But not for long!

The one wire shelf / hanging bar combo across the perimeter of our closets just isn’t cutting it anymore [not that it ever did] so we decided it was time to make the closets more functional for our needs and more stylish for mine ha!

After all, the babies always seem to get a sweet closet out of the deal, what about us?! See Winston’s Nursery Closet here and Simon’s Nursery Closet here.

Today, I’m going to share a few before photos and then my design plan. To see other mood boards for spaces in our home, click here.

I’m so incredibly embarrassed to share these images, so brace yourself. Its crazy bad in here!!

MASTER CLOSET BEFORE PHOTOS

The Hers side Before

Master closet before pic

As you can see, I have a lot of wasted space up top, too much crowding on the floor and clearly not enough space for shoes since I have a plastic organizer on the back of the closet door! I can’t see the shoes on the floor of dark closet and I forget that the back-of-the-door shoes are even there!

The His side Before

T has better shoe organizers on the ground, but way too many things stacked way too high on top. This guy and his hats, shoes and golf shirts 😉

He even has an old dresser on one side of his closet to add some drawer storage.

And both of us have to step inside and close the door behind us in order to access anything on the far side of the closet. We’re probably going to remove the doors altogether!

A FEW CLOSET UPDATES

The main update will be adding these amazing Closets by Liberty closet systems to maximize hanging space with additional functionality, storage and organization aspects. Each closet will have 2 of the 6″ Classic systems and then a 4′ system with floor-to-ceiling shelves. I will be sharing a full blog post with the step-by-step install process and DIY details of this system so stay tuned. We’re going to be starting the work soon!

We’ve emptied the closets, purged clothes and shoes, pulled the wire system down and my heart is already happy!

Other items we’re addressing:

I’ve always wanted a room with a black ceiling, so thought, why not in here?! It’s unique and bold, so we’re going for it. I’m going to accent the closet with a gold flushmount ceiling fixture, a faux leopard fur rug and baskets, totes and other organizers for storage.

The bold and classy design is my vision for the hers, would you guys want to see a modified version for his? It will probably look pretty similar, but I could mock one up with a different rug and more personalized storage ideas for his hats, belts, etc.

Let me know! I could add it into this post or share it in a new one.
