Welcome back, sweet friends! I’m always excited for Fridays, but especially today. This. girl. is. tired. I’m so thankful to have the $100 Room Challenge under my belt because it wore me out! Looking forward to some R&R this weekend, but first I wanted to share The Friday Five before I kick my feet up!
If you’ve missed any of the posts in The Friday Five series, you can check them all out here.
THE FRIDAY FIVE
cardigan // leopard pocket tee // bootcut jeans // booties // purse // sunglasses // necklace
This is the place I can share anything and everything with you – from new finds, recipes, sale items, best sellers or any other random tidbits and happenings from the week. There are no rules, which is what makes it a fun post to write!
I’m always up for topic requests as well as any items you want me to hunt for. Your feedback and suggestions are so extremely helpful to me! I love incorporating things I hear about from you or even entire blog post ideas. You all are so wonderful and supportive, I’m happy to help where I can!
Now let’s get on with today’s 5!
ONE // BASEMENT FAMILY LOUNGE REVEAL || $100 ROOM CHALLENGE
I know I just shared an entire reveal post this week with you, but I couldn’t let today’s post go by without mentioning it! I worked the entire month of September transforming a corner in our Basement into a Family Room hangout space and am so pleased with how it turned out. The kicker was that I had to refresh the space with a budget of $100! Thank goodness for storage closets, thrifted finds and playing musical chairs with my decor and accessories!
If you missed the Reveal, you can see it here.
And if you didn’t already think I was a little nutty, then you might now. I’m starting another room next week!! I really need to catch up on my sleep this weekend now, don’t I? Stay tuned for the Intro post with design plans and before photos next Thursday 😉
TWO // BUDGET BAND TEES
Who knew Target would have such cute band tees for under $15?! Well, it’s Target so I’m not surprised. They always come through for us 😉
I was wearing this tee last night on IG stories and got a ton of messages asking where I got it – well, Target is the answer! These are so easy to throw on with a denim or leather jacket or a cozy cardigan around the house. The graphic t-shirt trend is still going strong.
I sized up to a medium in this one – $14.99!
I rounded up a few other cute band tees that won’t break the bank below:
How cute is this and this new one?!
THREE // IT’S APPLE PICKING SEASON
All the pumpkin and apple things right now! You know how much I love my pumpkin this time of year, but apples are a close second. Fall always brings back memories of my Grandma’s Apple Goodie recipe. It’s like a decadent apple crisp that fills your home with the most divine apple scent. My Grandma and Mom always made it when I was young and I’ve now tried it a couple times myself.
We haven’t made a trip to the Apple Orchard yet, but my mom just brought me a bag of apples from the tree in their backyard! I’m planning to make homemade applesauce with the boys and a pan of my Grandma’s Apple Goodie. Both are on the list!
What are your favorite apple recipes?! Anything I should try this season?
FOUR // NEW KITCHEN FAUCET
I had NO idea a new kitchen faucet could make my heart skip a beat. But I’m here to tell you, it did. The pull-down feature of our last kitchen faucet was great, until it stopped reconnecting back at the top. The hose just dangled for months. It bothered me the first week or two and then we got used to it. Plus it happened in the prime of COVID and we weren’t comfortable having a contractor in our home to replace it.
So when enough was enough, I started browsing for faucets again and pulled the trigger on this one and it was just installed this week. I don’t have a great picture of it yet, but it. is. GORGEOUS! It’s the prettiest champagne bronze color and is so sleek and slim!
I’m actually obsessed. I’ll pop a picture in here once I snap one!
If you’re ever thinking about updating your kitchen [or any room for that matter], you can absolutely do it in phases. When we updated our kitchen a few years ago, I wanted a new faucet then, but we decided the one we had was fine and we went on to replace other things. New lights, hardware, paint, etc. were all wonderful. But waiting a few years and putting a new faucet in now, actually makes it feel like a brand new kitchen all over again. Sometimes its nice to wait. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at how fabulous it is to enjoy one new feature 😉
FIVE // #1 AMAZON BEST SELLER
My September Amazon Try-on Haul was earlier this week and the feedback has been great so far! Did you snag anything for your own closet? I’ll be sharing September Best Sellers on the blog next week, but I thought it would be fun to share what the number one item from the haul is so far.
Drumroll, please…
You guys went crazy for this Green Leopard Swing Tunic with pockets! I have the Army Green but there are tons of other color options and it’s under $20!
This color block v-neck cardigan was a close 2nd!
To check out the full haul, head to the Amazon Try-on here.
I know we are laying low tonight with pizza and a movie and I’m pumped! PJ’s might be on at 4 pm and I’m okay with it! Any fun plans this weekend?
I hope its a great one. I might publish the monthly printable for October tomorrow, if not, be on the lookout for it on Monday.
